Security Engineer I, Customer Logistics Security - Systems Security
Description We are seeking a Security Engineer with a background in logistics operations at Amazon and foundational experience in security. This role is ideal for someone who understands the operational challenges of Amazon’s fulfillment or logistics networks and is eager to apply security principles to protect these critical systems. The candidate will work closely with our security engineers and TPMs to evaluate risks, develop security solutions, and support embedded security efforts in fulfillment technology projects. Key job responsibilities - Assist in security reviews of fulfillment system architecture, automation tools, and robotics infrastructure. - Conduct risk assessments and identify security vulnerabilities in logistics and fulfillment workflows. - Support the implementation of security best practices for Amazon’s logistics operations, including network security, identity management, and secure system deployment. - Collaborate with product development teams to integrate security controls into new fulfillment technology. - Assist in security incident investigations related to fulfillment and logistics systems. - Develop and maintain security documentation, including threat models, risk assessments, and security guidelines. - Support security automation efforts, including monitoring and alerting for key logistics security risks. About the team The Systems Security team ensures the secure development and deployment of Amazon’s fulfillment systems and robotics infrastructure. Our team embeds security engineers into development programs to proactively identify security risks, enabling business innovation while maintaining a strong security posture. We work closely with engineering, operations, and security teams to secure Amazon’s next-generation fulfillment systems. Basic Qualifications - 1+ years of experience in security (e.g., information security, systems security, cloud security, application security). - Basic understanding of security concepts such as authentication, access control, and vulnerability management. - Familiarity with network security fundamentals and secure system administration. - Ability to analyze security risks and communicate findings to non-security stakeholders. - Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment. Preferred Qualifications - Experience securing operational technology (OT), industrial control systems (ICS), or warehouse automation is a plus. - Exposure to cloud security (AWS), scripting (Python, Bash), or security tools (SIEM, IDS, EDR). - Hands-on experience with risk assessments, security compliance, or security testing in a logistics environment. - Knowledge of Amazon security policies, standards, and operational workflows. - Strong collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical teams. - Experience in Amazon fulfillment or logistics operations (e.g., FC, Sort Center, AMZL, Supply Chain).
