**Who You’ll Work With**
Joining our Canberra-based team, you’ll collaborate with a group of highly skilled security professionals who are passionate about tackling emerging security challenges in both government and enterprise environments. You’ll work closely with Cisco’s local and national teams, as well as our valued customers across the ACT.
**Who You Are**
As a Security Architect based in Canberra, you’ll play a leading role in transforming customer environments through architectural and thought leadership, and by delivering major security engagements. You’ll be responsible for conceptualising solutions (Customer Requirements Document), advising on best practices, planning (Implementation Strategy Plan), and designing (High Level Design) enterprise security architecture and operations solutions. You’ll also help identify new business opportunities, support sales and account teams, and mentor security consulting engineers. You’ll contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of Cisco’s security service offerings.
We’re seeking experienced Security Architects with a proven record in Security Operations and Security Architecture, ideally gained within the Australian public sector, defence, or large enterprise environments. You’ll possess strong consulting skills and a deep technical understanding of security, networking, and compliance.
**Your Impact:**
· Leverage your significant knowledge and experience in Security Architecture, Solutions and Operations and a solid understanding across a breadth of topics including data centre, cloud, networking and compliance.
· Lead complex Security solutions design, implementation, performance engineering or problem resolution projects.
· Drive migration planning and execution, with a thorough understanding of networked solutions and related dependencies.
· Establish strong relationships with customer management and technical teams on Security Infrastructure areas and future technology trends.
· Solve complex issues that cross multiple technologies in Security, Data Center, network, applications, operations.
· Ensure compliance to delivery methodology, operating model, roles & responsibilities.
· Guide other consultants and engineers, resolving challenges and ensuring customer success.
· Office attendance and travel to customer sites will be expected.
**Required Experience:**
· Experience In large and complex projects, particularly focusing on Cisco Security portfolio: firewalls (FTD, ASA), ISE, ESA, WSA, SNA, XDR
· A minimum of 10 years of experience in leading, designing, deploying and optimising scalable Security solutionsin government, private sector, and Defence.
· Proficiency in Cloud Solutions (AWS, Azure, Google)
· Exceptional communication skills, capable of translating complex technical issues for both executive and non-technical audiences
· Proficient in documentation, technical writing, and reporting
· Familiarity with CI/CD toolchains, DevOps principles, YAML, as well as the ability to work with various programming languages (Python, PowerShell)
· Understanding of AI principles, tools and use cases
· Awareness of third party products/solutions in Network, Security and related technologies
· AGSVA clearance
**Desired Experience:**
· Bachelor of Engineering or Technology
· CCIE (Security/R&S/Enterprise) Certification
· Demonstrable experience in Security Operations Center (SOC) architecture, SOC platforms and other security and enrichment platforms
· A self-driven curiosity to learn, work in a fast-paced changing environment, evolve continuously to keep pace with Cisco’s solutions, technologies and industry trends.
· Strong analytical reasoning, creative problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to translate concepts into actionable execution.
· Relevant Cloud Certifications

For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday (for non-exempt employees), plus a day off for their birthday. Non-Exempt new hires accrue up to 16 days of vacation time off each year, at a rate of 4.92 hours per pay period. Exempt new hires participate in Cisco’s flexible Vacation Time Off policy, which does not place a defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use, but is subject to availability and some business limitations. All new hires are eligible for Sick Time Off subject to Cisco’s Sick Time Off Policy and will have eighty (80) hours of sick time off provided on their hire date and on January 1st of each year thereafter. Up to 80 hours of unused sick time will be carried forward from one calendar year to the next such that the maximum number of sick time hours an employee may have available is 160 hours. Employees in Illinois have a unique time off program designed specifically with local requirements in mind. All employees also have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community.
Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:
.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;
1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;
1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.
For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
