This is a key leadership role, responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors — 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
You’ll be the go-to expert for all things security, leading a team of dedicated officers and supervisors, managing car parking logistics, and ensuring compliance with NHS and Sodexo safety protocols. You’ll balance operational efficiency with empathy and professionalism — because in healthcare, every detail matters.

What You'll Do:
Lead the daily delivery of all security and car parking operations across a large, complex hospital site
Support and deputise for the Security Supervisors, managing a team of approximately 30
Ensure consistent staffing levels and rota planning aligned to contractual KPIs
Oversee incident response, investigations, and liaison with local police and NHS Protect
Produce accurate and timely security reports, audits, and compliance documentation
Manage 3rd party contractors and agency labour to ensure service quality and value
Embed a culture of health & safety, training, and continuous improvement across the team
Act as the point of escalation for security-related risk, compliance, or reputational matters
Represent Sodexo in strategic site discussions, working collaboratively with senior Trust colleagues
Attend court or inquests and provide formal statements as required
What You Bring:
Proven experience in a senior security management role within facilities, retail, leisure, or healthcare
A current SIA licence (Security Industry Authority) is essential
A calm, composed, and authoritative presence — especially in high-pressure or sensitive situations
Strong leadership and influencing skills; able to manage, motivate and develop large teams
Knowledge of healthcare security standards, NHS Protect guidance, and compliance frameworks
Excellent communication and report-writing skills
High levels of commercial awareness and a commitment to delivering value and service excellence
