The Security Officer position at Key Tower involves enforcing property rules and regulations, communicating directions verbally and through written reports, and responding to emergencies. The role includes monitoring camera systems, fire alarm systems, and other security systems that protect the site's interior and exterior. Officers are responsible for performing routine equipment checks, conducting opening and closing procedures, aiding authorized personnel, detecting unauthorized personnel, and assisting with escorts of personnel, contractors, and vendors as needed. Outstanding customer service skills and a team-oriented attitude are essential for this position
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
+ Enforcement of property rules and regulations
+ Clear communication of verbal directions and written reports
+ Observing and reporting incidents and hazards
+ Responding to emergencies
+ Monitoring camera systems, fire alarm systems, and security systems
+ Performing routine equipment checks
+ Conducting opening and closing procedures
+ Aiding and allowing access to authorized personnel
+ Detecting unauthorized personnel
+ Assisting with escorts of personnel, contractors, and vendors
+ Outstanding customer service skills
+ Adapting to the needs of the building to provide a safe atmosphere
+ Greeting all guests entering the building and patrolling corridors
+ Work with local authorities and city entities to aid, direct, and provide information during an emergency.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
+ High School Diploma or equivalent
+ At least 1 year of experience in security, military, safety, or customer service
+ Experience with in-house or contracted security companies or guest services
+ Combination of prior military or law enforcement, OPATA, Federal Emergency Management or National Incident Management training/experience
+ AED/CPR/First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain)
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
+ Superior customer service, communication, and interpersonal abilities
+ Analytical and problem-solving capabilities
+ Excellent organizational skills
Expected Hours of Work & Travel
+ Days and work hours are generally Monday through Friday but may require evening and/or weekend shifts.
+ Travel may be required with personal vehicle and reimbursed as necessary.
+ Shifts may change depending on the needs of the business. This may include nights, weekends or holidays based on business needs.
