Securities Litigation & Corporate Governance Paralegal
Description We are looking for an experienced Securities Litigation & Corporate Governance Paralegal to join our team in Wilmington, Delaware. In this long-term contract role, you will play a critical part in supporting attorneys with complex corporate governance and securities litigation cases. This position offers an opportunity to work on high-level legal matters, including trial preparation and discovery, while honing your expertise in commercial litigation. Responsibilities: • Assist attorneys with all aspects of securities litigation and corporate governance cases, including case preparation, discovery, and trial support. • Draft and prepare legal documents such as client retainers, motions, pleadings, discovery requests, and book-and-record demands. • File court documents using platforms like FileandServeXpress and Pacer, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards. • Manage and organize complex case files and maintain legal databases to ensure accessibility and accuracy. • Conduct legal research on corporate and securities law topics, summarizing findings for attorney review. • Collaborate with attorneys to prepare for trials, hearings, and depositions. • Monitor case progress and deadlines, ensuring timely submission of required documentation. • Provide support in handling complex commercial and business litigation matters. • Review and analyze court filings and other legal documents to aid in case strategy. • Ensure compliance with Court of Chancery procedures and other relevant jurisdictions. Requirements • Proven experience in securities litigation, corporate governance, or similar legal fields. • Strong knowledge of civil litigation processes and discovery procedures. • Proficiency in using case management software and legal filing platforms such as FileandServeXpress and Pacer. • Excellent organizational skills, particularly in managing complex case files and legal databases. • Ability to conduct thorough legal research and present findings clearly. • Familiarity with commercial litigation and corporate law frameworks. • Experience working on cases within the Court of Chancery or similar jurisdictions. • Strong written and verbal communication skills for drafting legal documents and collaborating with attorneys.
