Your role: An exciting new opportunity has arisen to join OT team at Life Science as sector OT Service and Solutions Manager. You will be responsible to lead the strategic OT Service and Solutions pilar for the ISCO network of 50+ manufacturing sites. In collaboration with the site OT teams, peers from other sectors, sector and corporate IT, the role encompasses oversight of all Life Science OT applications, ensuring compliance with internal processes such as GxP, Data Privacy, Data Retention, Cybersecurity, and Disaster Recovery. As a global lead, you will own the OT Service Management CoP(s) with sites, to link customer voices to global programs and projects to improve OT service delivery and maximize value by integrating with the IT service management framework (Service Now). Within OT solutions, you will lead the development of industrial data connectivity projects and pipelines for both local needs and globally driven initiatives, moving us towards the vision of connected plants while owning the E2E OT data architecture. You will be interacting with other core OT pillars such as OT Program and Portfolio Management, OT Architecture, and OT Cybersecurity. You will also be interacting with corporate IT infrastructure and IT application teams, as well as corporate security teams. The role will require approx 10% of travels.
 

Key responsibilities are:

Lead the development and implementation of the IT service management framework for OT, based on the existing Merck IT internal practices, ITIL Framework, and the OT specific needs aligned with business priorities, budget and riskDrive OT inventory and CMDB programsDesign and implement a cross-sector training strategy for OT on IT Service Management and ServiceNowParticipate and contribute to the cross-sector IT/OT service management Center of ExcellenceLead the sector IT/OT service management CoP and represent Life Science in the cross-sector boardOwn standards for shopfloor connectivity and data architecturesExecute connectivity POCs with external partnersOrchestrate sector lead project execution across all Life Science sitesAlign Sector OT solutions strategy with external teams from IT, cybersecurity, and qualityOwn stakeholder management informing and supporting both sites and sector functions on OT solution decisions driving transparencyOwn Data Architecture E2E and support the SmartFacturing initiative “Data Autobahn”Manage external partnerships with key IT/OT solution providers

 

Who You Are:

Graduate degree in industrial automation (or equivalent)Several years (ideally 7+) of experience in OTSeveral years (ideally 5+) of experience in leading OT connectivity projectsProficient in implementing IT Service Management practices leveraging ServiceNow platformKnowledge of the industry leading IT Service Management frameworks such as ITIL 3 or 4Hands-on experience in conduction OT projects to understand complexity and riskDomain knowledge in:Manufacturing: Understanding of industrial processes, machinery, and control systemsOT Systems: Including IO, PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS, Historians and MES/EBRIT/OT Convergence: Expertise in integrating OT systems into IT infrastructureIndustrial Networks: Fieldbus protocols, network architecture principles, ISA-99Connectivity: Knowledge on middleware (e.g. Kepserver) and industrial data architecturesIndustrial Data: Knowledge on data brokers, data naming conventions (e.g. HiveMQ, UNS) and target systems (e.g. Historians, MS SQL, Influx)Project Management: Knowledge of PM processes end to endCommunication Skills: Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholdersExperience in GxP environments beneficialAbility to interact with senior management in a matrix organizationAbility to develop long term vision and strategic decision makingAbility to orchestrate external partners and internal teamsStrategic thinking, systematic problem solving, and assertiveness in plan executionMulticultural experience, fluent in English and at least one additional languageStrong communication, persuasion and coaching skills
