About BWT
The Bureau of Wastewater Treatment (BWT) operates and maintains critical wastewater infrastructure across all five boroughs, including 14 Wastewater Resource Recovery Facilities, over 90 pumping systems, combined sewer overflow facilities, and more. BWT is undergoing a digital transformation focused on four pillars: SCADA Support and Development, IT Support and Cybersecurity, Asset Management, Application Development. This transformation aims to modernize operations and improve resilience, efficiency, and data-driven decision-making
The Section Chief of SCADA Support will lead a team that manages the installation, operation, and maintenance of SCADA systems and telemetry infrastructure across BWT facilities. The role includes oversight of system performance, cybersecurity, disaster recovery, hardware/software lifecycle, and coordination with IT, Engineering, and SCADA Development teams.
Duties include but not limited to:
-Lead and manage the SCADA Support team’s daily operations, workload, and performance.
-Oversee SCADA system monitoring, maintenance, alarms, and incident resolution.
-Maintain system availability, uptime, and perform patch management and updates.
-Manage configuration and change control for HMI, PLCs, servers, and networks.
-Coordinate with networking teams on routers, switches, firewalls, and secure communications.
-Maintain inventory, imaging, deployment, and lifecycle of SCADA workstations and servers.
-Ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies and implement access controls and antivirus protocols.
-Support remote access tools and vendor coordination under approved procedures.
-Document system architecture, procedures, known issues, and preventive maintenance schedules.
-Collaborate with SCADA Development and Engineering to support enhancements and upgrades.
-Mentor staff and promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and customer service.

Qualifications
1. A baccalaureate degree in computer science, engineering or a related field from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to IT automation engineering, monitoring engineering, management of infrastructure; or
2. Eight years of satisfactory full-time experience related to IT automation engineering, monitoring engineering, management of infrastructure;
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above.

Salary Min: $ 75,000.00
Salary Max: $140,000.00
