**Employment Type:** Part time **Shift:** 12 Hour Day Shift **Description:** **Job Title:** Secretary/Unit Clerk – Joint and Spine **Employment Type:** Part Time **Shift:** Day **Location:** Holy Cross Hospital **Position Purpose:** Join the award-winning Joint and Spine Unit at Holy Cross Health, where you’ll play a key role in supporting daily operations of a 14-bed specialized orthopedic and neurological care unit. As the Secretary/Unit Clerk, you’ll be the central point of communication and coordination for the team—ensuring smooth workflows and a welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. **What You Will Do:** + Greet and assist patients, families, and visitors promptly and professionally + Operate communication systems, including phones and call lights + Update and maintain nurse station whiteboards and patient records + Schedule patient diagnostics, therapies, and transport needs accurately + Support timely entry of patient transfers and discharges + Provide clerical support and assist with select clinical tasks as directed + Participate in shift hand-offs to ensure continuity of care **Minimum Qualifications:** + High school diploma or equivalent + Previous experience as a unit secretary, health unit coordinator, administrative partner, or CNA + Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office + Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English + Certificate in medical secretary training preferred + Ability to distinguish colors and maintain visual/auditory acuity **Position Highlights:** + Join a supportive, multidisciplinary team of nurses, therapists, and physicians + Play a critical role in enhancing patient care and operational efficiency **Benefits:** + Comprehensive benefit packages available, including medical, dental, vision, mental health, paid time off, 403B, education assistance and voluntary benefits (pet insurance, accident insurance, hospital indemnity and others) available from first day of employment. + Work/Life balance with flexible schedules. + Free onsite parking. + DailyPay Program (Get paid for hours worked) + Our mission and core values are what drives each member of Holy Cross Health to support each other, communicate openly and respectfully while embracing a culture that nurtures a healing, safe environment for all. **Pay Range-$17.58 - $22.71** Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
