The primary objectives of the Seal Repair Technician (M/F/T) are to drive market leading response and customer service, to repair mechanical seals, to carry out the packing, receiving, quality control and inventory handling for the Quick Response Center Dortmund, achieve OTD (meet customer promised dates) and Repair Cycle Time targets. This position maintains an on-going repair business in order to meet on-time delivery commitments to customer.
Your tasks:
Check incoming repairs for completeness of the incoming documents, especially for the presence the clearance certificate and the safety data sheet. If not available, initiate a request.
Identify incoming mechanical seals using the article number, parts lists and drawings.
Checking the individual parts for reusability, reworking or replacement through visual and metrological checks.
If necessary, picture documentation for the technical report.
Discuss complicated cases in consultation with the QRC application engineer, sales representative or QRC Manager / Supervisor.
Creation of the repair process in the ERP system and printout of the repair protocol
Filling out the repair protocol (which parts are new / rework)
List of new parts, rework, working hours for the preparation of offers.
After the repair has been approved by the customer, the repair can be started independently after approval.
Manual and, if necessary, machine reworking (turning, milling, grinding, lapping) of the reusable individual parts, taking into account the dimensional tolerances and quality standards.
Checking the new parts for completeness and dimensional tolerance.
Professional assembly of the mechanical seal according to the drawing.
Leak test with protocol according to specifications.
The previous 3 points also apply to the assembly of new seals
Detect and document defects in components or assemblies such as tolerance deviations, defects, quality, incorrect delivery.
Contact the supplier in the event of a complaint (discrepancies)
Acceptance and storage of incoming goods and repairs
Packing the repaired mechanical seals
Printout of delivery notes and creation of parcel slips
Occasionally, in urgent cases, pick-up and delivery of repairs to the customer.
Occasionally "on-site" assembly work at the customer
Carry out machine maintenance according to plan
Participation in 5S and safety activities
Your profile:
Completed 3-year technical vocational training, preferably as an industrial mechanic
Customer focus and good teamwork skills
Technical knowledge, preferably in the field of Mechanical Engineering / Rotating Equipment
Must be able to interpretate technical drawings and bill of materials
Must have basic PC skills (MS Office, ERP Systems)
Must have excellent accuracy and needs to be effective and accurate also in stressful situations
Secure in German and very basic English language (reading and writing)
