To process and stock a variety of quality seafood and seafood-related items in a careful, clean, neat and expedient manner;  ensuring that product is fresh and appealingly displayed for our customers while maintaining great customer service.

 

Starting pay: $15.40 / hour

Minimum Qualifications Ability to display initiative and work with limited supervision. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to communicate effectively. Must be detail oriented with the ability to continually multi task. Demonstrate self motivation and successful experience in previous jobs. Demonstrated ability to work with people of various backgrounds, personality traits and levels of authority to accomplish company goals. Must be able to read and write English adequately. Ability to speak, understand and follow English instructions. Successful completion of pre-employment/promotion drug screen and criminal background check (Timeline must fall within companies’ guidelines). Responsibilities

Greet, assist, render efficient service and thank customers in a prompt, courteous, friendly and business like-manner. Possess good communication skills and ability to conduct and facilitate department meetings. Adhere to the company standards of safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation and productivity are achieved. Resolve customer complaints to the full satisfaction of the customer. Maintain accurate records (service logs, temperature logs, etc.)Monitor cooler and display area temperatures to ensure product quality; report refrigeration failure immediately. Answer product questions and offer assistance in finding or suggesting product selection. Ensure sales and work area are swept clean, orderly and free from safety hazards; report hazards to management immediately. Ensure shelves are clean as they are being restocked. Practice proper sanitation procedures.Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, and thus compliance with all state and federal laws applicable to our industry.Order, receive, unload and store deliveries; store, price, date, rotate, and stock product and prepare product for display and sale.Keep all seafood merchandise rotated in accordance with company policy and product code dates and always make use of the oldest products first (first in, first out).Effectively control proper storage limiting shrink and damaged goods.Have knowledge of various cuts of seafood.Weigh and price cut seafood.Stock seafood displays in neat manner.Unload seafood delivery and store product in designated area.Maintain the freezer, display cases, equipment, and work area to the sanitation standards of the company.Prepare and wrap fish, shellfish, live lobsters, and other seafood related products.Cut and remove skins from fish.Steam live lobsters as requested by customers.Follow proper fish handling procedures.Answer product questions and offer assistance in finding or suggesting product selection.Exercise proper safety practices when lifting or moving products or using equipment.Be able to operate and clean department equipment and tools.

 

Secondary job functions:

Verify price checks for customers as needed.

 

Present favorable impression in dress, personal hygiene and business attitude.Notify management of associate theft, customer shoplifting, unauthorized mark downs or property defacement.Clean walls, fans and drains in meat cooler, display cases and work area.Other duties as assigned by management.
