Scrum Master Job Description

Position Summary:
Seeking a proactive and experienced Scrum Master to join our dynamic team. You will facilitate Agile ceremonies, remove impediments, and support high-performing Scrum teams, while handling light administrative tasks to ensure smooth project operations.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as Scrum Master for one or more Agile teams, facilitating all Scrum ceremonies (Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Reviews, Retrospectives, etc.).

Guide teams in Agile best practices and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of goals, scope, and product domain.

Track and report on team metrics and progress using Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).

Identify and remove impediments to team progress.

Support project documentation and perform light administrative duties as needed.

Foster strong relationships across teams and departments to enhance collaboration and delivery.

Work flexibly to cover Australia time zones, including roster shifts, weekends, or after-hours support during deployments as required.

Prepare monthly reporting, including Scrum Team metrics, DORA metrics, timesheets, and financial reports (PR/PO creation).

Handle Jira queries and contribute to Microsoft BI reporting.

Must Have Skills & Qualifications

Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification.

Proven experience as a Scrum Master in Agile environments, including leading Scrum of Scrum and PI planning sessions.

Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage timelines, risks, and deliverables.

Excellent communication and relationship management skills.

Proficiency with Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, Trello, or similar platforms.

Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Flexibility to support Australia time zone shifts, including weekends or after-hours deployments.

Good to Have Skills & Qualifications

SAFe certification and/or Kanban certification.

Experience with Jira query handling and Microsoft BI reporting.

Prior experience working in matrixed or enterprise-level global organizations.

Experience with financial administrative tasks related to project management (PR/PO creation).

8+ years of overall experience, including 5+ years leading Scrum teams.
