Scrum Leader

Are you a Scrum Master ready to elevate your career in a dynamic, fast-paced environment? Emerson is seeking a passionate and experienced Scrum Leader to join our team in Austin, Texas. In this role, you will guide one to two agile teams within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) organization, driving the development of innovative, high-quality Manufacturing Execution Systems solutions across web, cloud, PC, and embedded platforms.

We’re looking for a collaborative leader with a strong background in agile practices and experience in SAFe environments. You’ll play a key role in fostering a culture of continuous improvement, supporting team growth, and ensuring alignment across teams and collaborators to deliver exceptional software products. Strong communication skills and the ability to navigate diverse technical and business landscapes are essential for success.

AS A SCRUM MASTER, YOU WILL:

Facilitate core Scrum ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Reviews, and Retrospectives) to drive team rhythm and alignment. Collaborate with cross-functional roles—including Developers, Product Owners, and Release Train Engineers—to remove impediments and support team delivery. Champion agile practices and foster a culture of continuous improvement across teams and the broader organization. Coordinate with fellow Scrum Masters and train leadership to manage cross-team dependencies and align on shared initiatives. Support Program Increment (PI) planning and help guide agile adoption while maintaining team autonomy and ownership. Promote data-informed decision-making by using metrics and actively embodying Agile and SAFe principles at all levels.

WHO YOU ARE: You are a servant leader and agile champion who thrives in fast-paced, collaborative environments. With a strong grasp of Scrum principles and the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), you foster team ownership, guide agile maturity, and remove blockers before they become barriers. You build trust through empathy, clear communication, and steady facilitation, bringing out the best in your team. Your ability to connect the dots across people, process, and purpose helps drive value delivery, even amidst complexity and change. What sets you apart is your blend of adaptability, emotional intelligence, and a relentless focus on continuous improvement.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Bachelor’s degree in any STEM-related courses  5+ years of relevant software development experience 2+ years of experience serving as a Scrum Leader for agile teams, ideally within a SAFe (Scaled Agile) environment Deep understanding of agile principles and the Scrum Leader role, supported by certifications such as SAFe, Scrum Alliance, or Scrum.org credentials Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively bridge technical and non-technical audiences Demonstrated ability to navigate scaled agile challenges and foster alignment across teams and collaborators Skilled in facilitation, team collaboration, and nurturing high-performing, self-organizing teams Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:

Familiarity with SAFe 6.0 is preferred, though experience with earlier versions is also valued. Background in developing integrated software solutions across multiple platforms Familiarity with the Life Sciences industry or software development for regulated industries Proven involvement in agile transformations within organizations of 50+ developers, particularly in a Scrum Master or leadership role. Knowledge of ISO-certified development processes, Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC), and/or experience with Safety Integrity Level (SIL) environments.
