Based in our Austin, Texas location, you will be the servant-leader of 1-2 agile teams within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)-based organization aimed at delivering world-quality process control products built across web, cloud, PC, and embedded platforms integrated with locally developed hardware.
The ideal candidate has experience chipping in to an agile transformation and working in a SAFe-based organization and is passionate about working with software development team members to champion an effective agile/Scrum environment while coordinating with other agile teams and development leaders in order to deliver great products. You should be able to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with a wide range of people, experience levels, and technical backgrounds.
IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL:
Facilitate regular Scrum events such as Sprint Planning, Daily-Standup, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective Work collaboratively with developers, Products Owners, release train leaders, and management to effectively identify and remove impediments to the development team’s progress Foster agile standard methodologies and a culture of relentless improvement amongst assigned scrum teams and the development organization as a whole Work collaboratively with other Scrum Leader and release train leadership to coordinate and support the activities of all of the Scrum teams Support release train leadership in preparing for each Program Increment Effectively guide discussions and engage in conflict resolution when necessary Work with management to call out problems encountered on/amongst scrum teams as necessary Influence scrum teams towards an effective agile implementation while maintaining their sense of ownership and empowerment Champion the use of metrics and other objective measures across the organization Serve as both an example and a champion for the values and principles of both SAFe and the Agile Manifesto
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Bachelor’s degree in any STEM related courses AND 5+ years of relevant experience in software development environment 2+ years of experience as a Scrum Leader for one or more Scrum teams implementing Scrum or Scrum within a SAFe context Demonstrated knowledge of agile processes and the Scrum Leader’s role in them through at least one of the following certifications: Certified SAFe Scrum Master (Scaled Agile) Certified SAFe Advanced Scrum Master (Scaled Agile) Certified Scrum Master (Scrum Alliance) Certified Advanced Scrum Master (Scrum Alliance) Professional Scrum Master I, II, or III (Scrum.org) Demonstrable understanding of the challenges commonly faced in a scaled agile context Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with ability to clearly communicate technical and non-technical information to a range of audiences Excellent skills in facilitation and assessing, understanding, and navigating team dynamics towards building and maintaining a high-performance team Legal authorization to work in the United StatesPREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Experience working within the development groups of a team implementing the Scaled Agile Framework One or more SAFe certifications, especially Certified SAFe Agilist, SAFe Scrum Master, or SAFe Program Consultant SAFe 5.0 experience/certifications are also preferred but earlier versions of SAFe are also acceptable Experience in development of solutions integrating software development on multiple platforms and proprietary hardware development Experience in the development of process control systems, avionics, or other near-real time information control systems Experience participating in or leading an agile transformation for a development organization of more than 50 developers, especially in the role of Scrum Leader Experience with ISO certified processes and audits, Secure Lifecycle Development, and/or development of products for use in a SIL environment Ability to travel occasionally, including internationallyOur Culture & Commitment to You
