Your role:

You will carry out, with limited support of the Laboratory Head, the analytical experiments aimed to the characterization of Biologics DS, DP and IPCs for development, clinical and commercial scopes work packages (e.g. comparability studies) to support non GMP and GMP testing.

With focus on glycoproteins primary, secondary, higher order structure and mass spectrometry characterization data, you will undertake the necessary management of interpretation and report of the data from experimental work for discussion with the line manager, by highlighting any atypical, critical or unusual results and proposing possible suggestions for additional experiments. Actively participate in scientific exchange initiatives within Merck and external world as well as maintains excellent collaborations with our customers.

 

Who you are:

Degree in Chemistry or Pharmaceutical Chemistry, specialization in biological characterization is a plus, desirable with 1 to 3 years of professional experience in pharmaceutical industry.Excellent knowledge of the chemistry of proteins, glycoproteins, fusion proteins and related structural and physico-chemical characterization analytical methods with a focus on RP, IEX, HIC, HILIC, SEC coupled to mass spectrometry (e.g. Orbitrap, HDX, Quadrupole) and CD, FTIR, Fluorescence, DSC, DSF and characterization of aggregates and particles. Successfully demonstrated expertise in Intact molecule, Primary Structure and PTMs, Glycoproteins characterization analysis.Ability to work in team; Result-Oriented; Supportive and proactive; Capability to adapt to change; Eager to learn and curious.Excellent knowledge of software and computer tools such as Office package, mass spectrometry data-evaluation software (e.g. Empower, BioPharmalynx, Expressionist) and attitude in digitalization;Fluent spoken and written English
