**Summarized Purpose:**
At Thermo Fisher Scientific, we are seeking an exceptionally skilled Scientist II - Biosafety (rcAAV) to join our world-class team in Middleton. You will be responsible for conducting complex analyses and ensuring flawless execution of laboratory procedures and regulatory guidelines!
**Essential Functions and Other Job Information:**
Essential Functions
+ Train on routine operation, maintenance, and theory of analytical instrumentation, SOPs, and regulatory procedures and guidelines.
+ Independently conduct sample preparation and analysis to measure pharmaceutical compounds accurately.
+ Complete all laboratory documentation in clear and accurate language according to SOP and GLPs.
+ Independently troubleshoot equipment and instruments. Mentor others in troubleshooting when applicable.
+ Review and compile results from assignments and make initial determinations on acceptability per SOP acceptance criteria.
+ Perform work assignments accurately, in a timely, and safe manner.
+ Independently manage QC responsibilities. Communicate project status to project leader and help identify gaps and anticipate roadblocks in project team workflow.
+ Complete QA-facing tasks with minimal supervisor/QA input.
+ Author low-complexity quality records and participate in the OOS/OOT/Atypical investigation process.
**Qualifications:**
Education and Experience:
+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and relevant formal academic/vocational qualification.
+ Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 2+ years).
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:**
+ Knowledge of routine operation, maintenance, and theory of analytical instrumentation, SOPs, and regulatory guidelines.
+ Familiarity with applicable regulatory authority, compendia, and ICH guidelines.
+ Demonstrates excellent manual dexterity skills, allowing for detailed and accurate work.
+ Shows proficiency in written and oral communication, improving effective communication within the team and with customers.
+ Displays outstanding time management and project management skills, ensuring efficient completion of tasks.
+ Proven problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, enabling the identification and resolution of issues.
+ Capable of cross-training on sample preparation techniques with another laboratory group, improving versatility and collaboration.
+ Thrives in a collaborative work environment, actively contributing to a cohesive and productive team.
