About the Role:
The Data Scientist & Python Software Developer will work at the intersection of data science and software development, creating powerful algorithms and robust applications that help our customers derive meaningful insights from complex scientific data. You'll collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop scalable data processing pipelines, machine learning models, and intuitive visualization tools that advance scientific discovery.
What You'll Do:
Design, develop, and implement data science solutions using Python, focusing on statistical analysis, machine learning, and data visualizationBuild and optimize data pipelines to process and investigate large scientific datasetsCreate reliable, well-tested, and maintainable Python applications that meet user requirementsDevelop and deploy machine learning models that solve real-world scientific problemsWork closely with product managers and scientists to understand user needs and translate them into technical solutionsCollaborate with UI/UX designers to create intuitive data visualization toolsPerform exploratory data analysis to identify patterns and insights in sophisticated datasetsDocument software solutions and contribute to team knowledge transferQualifications:
Education:
BS in Computer Science, Data Science, Computational Science, or related technical fieldRequired Experience:
2+ years of experience in Python software developmentStrong proficiency with data science libraries such as NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, and TensorFlow/PyTorchSolid understanding of software development practices, including version control (Git), testing, and documentationKnowledge of SQL and experience working with relational databasesDemonstrated ability to process and analyze large datasets efficientlyPreferred Experience:
Experience with data visualization tools (Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly)Experience in the life sciences or laboratory informatics domainFamiliarity with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)Experience with web development frameworks (Django, Flask)Background in statistical analysis and experimental designContributions to open-source projectsWhat We Offer:

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Maryland is $76,000.00–$90,000.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
