Job Description
This position is based 100% onsite at LC - Abbott Park and is a 1-year contract, renewable based on performance and business needs. The primary function of the Scientist I is to conduct laboratory experiments and analysis in support of molecular toxicology studies.
ResponsibilitiesCollaborate across research and development groups to identify optimal screening assays for early detection of toxicity liabilities.Support Preclinical Safety Toxicologists and Pathologists with in vitro platforms for investigating molecular mechanisms of toxicity and aid in the optimal selection of drug candidates.Develop and characterize 2D/3D in vitro platforms focused on toxicology.Conduct routine in vitro screening assays for early drug candidates.Produce, coordinate, and present key data as needed.Analyze and interpret relevant molecular toxicology data promptly and communicate findings to project stakeholders.Essential SkillsExperience in cell culture, including 2D techniques; familiarity with 3D techniques is a plus.Proficiency in conducting in vitro assays.Familiarity with luminescence, fluorescence, and UV-Vis assay readouts.Knowledge of spheroids and organoids.Additional Skills & QualificationsBS or MS in cell/molecular biology, molecular toxicology, pharmacology, biochemistry, or a related field with 1-5 years of experience.Understanding of fluorescence and luminescence assays and related plate readers.Practical knowledge of in vitro assay development and troubleshooting.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Strong analytical skills and experience in data analysis, interpretation, report writing, and effective communication both written and oral.Knowledge of traditional scientific statistical and graphing software.Work Environment
The Scientist I will work in a laboratory environment, utilizing advanced technologies and equipment. The position requires a full-time, onsite presence at LC - Abbott Park, with the need to collaborate with various research and development groups.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
