Your Role:
In this role you will perform laboratory operations associated with the histology, such as formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sectioning and staining, block qualification, tissue splitting and embedding, and antibody activity evaluation, for the manufacture of reagents in compliance with quality and regulatory requirements. This role is located at the Laclede Avenue location.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Perform core histology tasks: Conduct standard lab procedures like FFPE tissue sectioning, embedding, and staining (H&E and immunohistochemistry), and perform specific assays such as ELISA and bioburden testing.Contribute to product development: Aid in creating and commercializing new products by developing and executing various protocols.Ensure quality and compliance: Establish and review manufacturing procedures, ensuring all work meets quality requirements, project deadlines, and relevant regulatory standards (e.g., cGMP, ISO 13485, FDA).Analyze and interpret data: Collect, analyze, and interpret data from product testing to ensure all specifications are met.Document lab procedures: Write and update documents related to lab procedures and product manufacturing to maintain compliance and prepare lab reports or project summaries as needed.Maintain the lab environment: Perform routine equipment maintenance, clean labware and general areas, and manage the inventory of chemicals and supplies.Support team training: Assist in training and overseeing new lab staff.Improve lab operations: Contribute ideas and suggestions to enhance standard lab techniques, protocols, and processes.
Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Biotechnology, or other Life Science discipline and 3+ years of laboratory experience.OR
Master’s Degree in Biology, Biotechnology, or other Life Science discipline and 1+ years of laboratory experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with histology (eg, tissue sectioning (FFPE preferred), tissue embedding), tissue staining (eg, H&E, IHC -- automated and manual), ELISA, and flow cytometry.Can work independently but also works well in group setting.Strong troubleshooting, multitasking, organizational, time management, project management, and communication skills.Strong computer skills: PowerPoint, Excel, Word.Experience with basic laboratory techniques, equipment, and materials.Experience following Standard Operating Procedures, completing Manufacturing Procedure batch records, and adhering to Quality and Regulatory requirements.
