About the Job
Are you ready to shape the future of medicine? The race is on to speed up drug discovery and development to find answers for patients and their families. Your skills could be critical in helping our teams accelerate progress.
We are looking for a highly qualified and motivated scientist to join the precision neurology and neuroinflammation cluster, focused on discovering, validating, and developing therapies for neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and ALS. This position is laboratory-based and will involve executing experiments to identify and test new therapeutics in vitro and in vivo. The successful candidate will have experience working in neurodegeneration in an academic or industry setting, with extensive experience running animal studies in models of brain disease and the ability to perform cell culture-based experiments using primary brain cells and/or cell lines. The ideal candidate will also have experience running different bioanalysis assays including ELISA based systems.
We are an innovative global healthcare company with one purpose: to chase the miracles of science to improve people’s lives. We’re also a company where you can flourish and grow your career, with countless opportunities to explore, make connections with people, and stretch the limits of what you thought was possible. Ready to get started?
Main Responsibilities:
Run animal studies to assess compound pharmacokinetics using different administration approaches including subcutaneous, intravenous, and surgical ICV dosing.
Validate in vivo mouse models of neurodegeneration to measure target engagement and tease apart disease mechanisms.
Establish new animal protocols, manage AUPs, and coordinate studies in compliance with in vivo best practices.
Establish primary, immortalized, and/or iPSC-based cell cultures to test compounds or model neuroinflammatory mechanisms.
Measure compound exposure and changes in neuroinflammatory pathways in the CNS using ELISA or other similar approaches.
Provide support for externally run studies by communicating with vendors and collaborators.
Help design and execute experiments, analyze data, and clearly communicate results at internal and external meetings.
Interact in a matrixed, dynamic and cross-functional manner across the Rare and Neuroscience Therapeutic Area and research platforms.
