You are expected to foster strong team collaboration with other analytical associates in techniques such as Mass Spectrometry, FTIR, and Gel Permeation Chromatography. Key Responsibilities: + Apply Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy techniques to support research and development + Identify trace unknown impurities in complex polymer matrices, degradation products of polymer systems, small molecule/polymer interaction products + Conduct extractable/leachable studies + Maintain Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectrometer + Interpret test results and author scientific reports + Collaborate with inter-disciplinary colleagues such as toxicologists, engineers, polymer chemists, etc. **Qualifications** Education: + MS or PhD in Chemistry + 2+ years of experience with a MS degree, 0+ years experience with a PhD degree Required: + Possess in-depth knowledge of NMR spectroscopy principles and have demonstrated hands-on NMR problem solving experience with chemical systems. + Experience with NMR instrument maintenance and troubleshooting + Display passion and enthusiasm for science and innovation + Love to tackle problems with analytical technologies and chemistry knowledge + Like to work in a team environment that embraces change and continuous technical improvement + Have good interpersonal relationship and people skills + Have excellent oral & written communication skills Preferred: + Familiarity with FTIR and other spectroscopic techniques + Experience with synthetic polymer characterization + Familiarity with synthetic polymer chemistry Other: + This position is located in Raritan, NJ and requires up to 10% travel Johnson & Johnson is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
