Job DescriptionSeize your opportunity to make a personal impact as a Scientific Data Analyst on a team delivering administrative, scientific, technical and logistical support to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Division of Program Coordination, Planning, and Strategic Initiatives (DPCPSI). Your team will stand up a new NIH DPCPSI Office of Research Innovation, Validation and Application (ORIVA). Responsibilities include data development, analysis and evaluation, utilizing modeling methods such as computational approaches and New Approach Methodologies (NAMs). Your team will drive research efforts using nonanimal approaches and other innovative technologies to advance human-centered research across NIH.

Your team will ensure seamless service delivery in computational approaches, New Approach Methodologies (NAM) development, in vitro systems, artificial intelligence, and more. Work will be performed in the Durham, North Carolina area.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Be an integral part of a scientific team including researchers, data analysts, programmers, and technologistsData development, analysis and evaluation, including cleaning and analyzing data and utilizing methods (e.g., knowledge graphs to explore chemical-biological effect relationships)Routinely review, evaluate, curate, and integrate data from relevant databases (e.g, NCATS N3C, NCI CRDC, ToxRefDB, ToxCast, ExpoCast, DSSTox, CEBS, IUCLID, MassIVE and others)Ensure data integrity including preparing program guidelines, performing necessary data checks and managing datasets and data documentationEnsure customer satisfaction by providing high quality deliverables and anticipating needsWHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Required:
Ph.D. in bioinformatics, mathematics, statistics, computational linguistics, computer science, data science, or other relevant field and 4+ years of professional experienceCapable of fundamental programming for data analysis, survey data analysis, and data managementProviding quality assurance on deliverables and timely deliveryExcellent verbal and written communications skillsPreferred:
Experience in NAMs or a related scientific fieldExperience with data development and analysis for modeling methodsFamiliarity with data analysis related to biology/toxicology modeling and AI approaches (e.g., ML, expert systems, computer vision)Experience using PowerBI or equivalent to maintain data dashboardsLocation: Onsite, Located in Durham, NC
