POSITION TITLE: Receptionist REPORTS TO: Manager of Family Engagement and Academic Operations JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY: The Receptionist is a critical teammate who understands the importance of creating a warm and welcoming environment for all of the school's students, families, staff and guests. Manager of Family Engagement and Academic Operations. This team member works hard to build individual relationships with each of the school's scholars and families to ensure that they have a positive experience with the school. This team member also thrives in a fast-paced environment where they must frequently handle a wide variety of tasks, ranging from answering phones to contacting families regarding absences, to updating scholar dismissal information in the school's electronic system. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: General Communication + Answers the school's main phone number throughout the day and provides requested information to callers + Supports callers with their specific requests, including, but not limited to updating scholar dismissal information and logging information regarding scholar absences. + Takes messages for school team members and relays those messages to the relevant team member for future follow up. + Prints the Family Newsletter to have it available for all families who visit the school and takes the opportunity to reinforce important information about upcoming events (for example, to remind families about Report Card Night or a Family Fun Night). Attendance Support + Runs an attendance report in Powerschool each day and emails the staff that report so that they can double check the accuracy of the attendance, fixing any errors that are identified + Calls the families of all scholars who are reported each day to check on the wellness of their scholar and, if appropriate, to remind the family of the school's attendance policy and relevant attendance supports + Documents and follows up on information from attendance calls, including, for example, enlisting the Assistant School Leader of Culture in addressing a chronic absenteeism issue or enlisting the School Operations Manager in addressing a transportation issue Additional Clerical Duties + Provides assistance with general clerical duties (such as emailing, photocopying, printing, faxing or placing phone calls) when requested by the Manager of Family Engagement and Academic Operations. + Fulfills executive assistant duties for the Chief Executive Officer when requested. All staff duties In addition, all Enterprise employees commit to fulfilling certain responsibilities to build a joyful and rigorous school culture. For example, all staff members are required to attend parent teacher conferences and summer professional development sessions.
