Job Summary:
Join our compassionate and collaborative team as a School-Based Support Specialist, where you will play a vital role in facilitating smooth transitions for individuals into community living. Your expertise in psychological concepts will be invaluable as you coordinate mental health services with community resources. This position allows you to work directly within school hours and on school premises, ensuring students have access to essential resources during their educational journey.

In this role, you will apply behavioral science principles to empower youth, engage in diverse activities tailored to their unique needs, and manage a caseload while collaborating with supervisory staff. Your discretion and sound judgment will be crucial in providing emergency services to students in emotional crisis, ensuring their well-being and progress.

Key Responsibilities:

Apply behavioral science principles to support youth in thriving in their home and community environments.Offer specialized services during school hours directly on school premises, empowering students to succeed and improve their overall functioning.Engage in a range of activities designed to meet the diverse needs and objectives of the students, adapting and innovating to deliver effective support.Manage a caseload, ensuring coordination with supervisory staff and participating in client staffing to identify challenges and set achievable treatment goals.Exercise discretion and sound judgment when providing emergency services to students in emotional crisis, offering rapid assistance and comprehensive follow-up.Collaborate closely with Brightli Operational Guidelines and adhere to professional ethical codes while contributing to staff development activities.Support management requirements, including data collection, program evaluation, grant applications, and contract maintenance.Conduct outreach and home visits as necessary to engage with clients, particularly during school breaks or as needed to support the client's journey.

Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or other human services specialized field of study; orBachelor’s degree in an unrelated field and two years of related work experience; orAny four-year combination of higher education and two years of related work experience; orAssociate’s of Applied Science in Behavioral Health Support will also fulfill educational requirements; orFour years of qualifying experience in delivering services to individuals with mental health disorders, substance use disorders, or developmental disabilities.

Additional Qualifications:

Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age to operate a company-owned vehicle.Must be at least twenty-three (23) years of age to operate a company-owned fifteen (15) passenger van.Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance are required.Proof of valid and current auto insurance is required.

Physical Requirements:

ADA Consideration - Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
