School Aide - Gen Ed

Salary: $805 / Week
The School Aide is an individual who works with students requiring instructional, and/or behavioral assistance under the supervision of the special education department, teacher and/or supervising designee. The School Aide may also provide support services to assist students with personal, physical mobility and therapeutic care needs, as established by a rehabilitation health practitioner, social worker or other health care professional.
Minimum Requirements:
+ High School diploma or equivalent required
+ Comply with all relevant professional standards of practice
+ Current CPR if applicable
+ TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
+ Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
+ Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
Modality:
Paraprofessional x4
Grade Level:
High School aged students (9th-12th grade)
Caseload Details:
+ Behaviors: not a heavy behavior environment, more focused on keeping the students on task and handling more school refusals than anything
+ 1:1 or classroom? : Varies so candidates that are flexible. Placed based on interview and ensuring the students are not overly reliant on 1 para. Sometimes 1:1 support is needed if the student is going to gym, so flexibility is key.
+ 4 main traits they are looking for:
+ Self starter- someone that can jump into the role and not need much hand holding
+ Supports the students academically
+ Genuine love for children and working with the SPED population
+ Rule Follower in the sense that they follow direction well and follow care plans for students and understand it's a very professional environment at SCP

Yes- paraprofessionals in the room

Hours: 8am-3:30pm

Unpaid 30 min break
