Job Overview:

Schedulers handle the booking of appointments for various medical services, including consultations, procedures, and follow-up visits. They may schedule appointments for both new and existing patients

Qualifications:

Required:

High School diplomaStrong verbal and written communication skills are crucial for interacting with patients and healthcare professionalExperience with electronic health record systems and scheduling software is often required

Preferred:

Bilingual preferred

Shift-9:30am-5:30pmMonday-FridayFull Time-Day

Essential Functions:

They coordinate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth scheduling and efficient use of resourcesThis includes managing calendars, resolving conflicts, and communicating any changes to the schedulesSchedulers are responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient information in the systemThis may involve updating patient demographics, insurance information, and appointment detailsThey interact with patients via phone, email, or in person, answering inquiries, providing information about appointments, and addressing any concerns or issuesSchedulers may also perform various administrative tasks, such as processing insurance information, handling payments, and managing patient check-in and check-out proceduresSchedulers need to be organized and able to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain accurate recordsThey should be able to provide excellent customer service, handle patient inquiries with empathy and professionalism, and resolve any issues that may arisesFamiliarity with medical terminology and procedures is helpful for scheduling appointments and understanding patient needIn essence, a healthcare scheduler plays a vital role in the smooth functioning of a healthcare facility, ensuring that patients receive timely and appropriate care while also supporting the efficiency of the healthcare team
