Job Overview:

This Scheduler position for BPC/AHC is to schedule appointments, answer phone calls, call patients, enter messages into our EMR, coordinate with the providers, support clinical and clerical staff to meet the needs of our patients.

Qualifications:

Required:

High School Diploma or EquivalentMust have significant knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, practice management software, PowerPoint, as well as web and web-based software,Ability to perform multiple and diverse tasks simultaneously required,Working knowledge of managed care basics, and experience working with a managed care and Medicare populationOne year of experience working in a physician group practice,Prior Registration and authorization knowledge preferred

Scheduling Requirements:

Shift- 9:00am- 5:00pm Monday- FridayFull Time

Essential Functions:

Understand basic principle of insurance coveragesObtain insurance information and demographic information as neededProvide support to the front desk area when neededResponds to written and telephone inquiries from patient, physician offices, insurance companiesInforms other staff of pertinent informationResponds professionally and pleasantly to telephone messagesObtains adequate/accurate information and delegate s information appropriatelyMaintains professional and timely communication with physicians, mid-level providers, patients, hospitals and insurance companiesMaintains patient confidentiality, complies with HIPPA guidelines as established by the practiceWorks with the Practice Manager to ensure safe and professional patient careOther duties as assignedProvides cross-coverage as needed
