IFF is seeking a highly motivated Scent Evaluator based in Shanghai China.

In this role, you will…
Understudy the coordination of fragrance selection for incoming projects, identification of new winning fragrances and setting new fragrance trends together the team of Scent Design Managers and perfumers.

How you will contribute and lead:

·       Understand and coordination of fragrance selection for incoming briefs and ensure the timeline requirement is met.

·       Identify new winning fragrances and set new fragrance trends together with the Snr/Managers.

·       Participate in proactive fragrance bank collection.

·       Participate in departmental evaluations and knowledge sharing.

·       Learn to analyze assigned product categories identifying and developing new fragrance trends.

·       Provide quick feedback to their Managers and perfumers on fragrance submission.

·       Build fragrance knowledge by studying and involve in utilizing new product launches.

·       Support Marketing team in evaluation.

·       Learn to provide proactive support and trouble-shooting together with the team.

    

    

What you will need to be successful:

Essential

·       3 years experiences in fragrance evaluation.

·       Good communication, coordination and presentation skills.

·       A creative mind that is able to come up with new ideas and concepts.

·       An excellent nose that can relates to odor remembrance, odor association and odor discrimination skill.

·       Passion in fragrance selection and recommendation.

·       Understanding sensory evaluation techniques to judge fragrance performance and preferences.

·       Ability to classify fragrances in families and olfactive directions and identify specific olfactive notes.

·       Understand research techniques, both quantitative and qualitative.

  

Preferred

·       Good understanding of the perfumery business.

·       General overview on the market and market knowledge relating to a specific area (the market shares, most important players in the market, products, advertisement, marketing positioning, odor directions, the drivers of the success of fragrance of key products).

·       An understanding of social and cultural influences on fragrance acceptance.

·       Aware of all the aspects of the creative process.
