Scaffold Designer

The Role 

Seeking an experienced scaffold designer who can provide Specialist technical input into scaffold designs for work packages and scopes. Based out in WA, Worsley Alumina working full time Monday–Friday.

Reporting to the contracts manager, this role will work closely with Scaffold Superintendents, supervisor, and external Engineering to develop fit-for-purpose scaffolds that meet all statutory regulations.


Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and draft design scaffold shop drawings and produce final designs for designated SRG Global projects according to preliminary design guidelines and proposal documents. Manage external consultants/contractors during detailed design/drafting or certification of own SRG Global Scaffolding projects. Ensure the Construction & Design Program is followed with particular attention to the details relevant to the efficient application of SRG Global systems and processes on site. Ensure designs are compliant with all relevant codes and standards and are reviewed/checked as required. Assist in the preparation of proposal designs for tendering. Proactively engage with clients on their own SRG Global projects to ensure all requests are acted upon in a timely fashion and encourage repeat business for SRG Global. Perform site inspections and produce inspection reports assigned for current SRG Global projects. Manage own SRG Global projects to ensure that the required timelines are met as expected, and delays are discussed. Collaborate with Engineers, Scopes, and scaffold Personnel to facilitate the delivery of projects. Assist and create scope documents that can be handed to the scaffolder to build in the field


The successful applicant will ideally have:

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a scaffolding or draftsmen role. Preferably working with scaffolding or within the scaffolding industry. Demonstrated proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Scaff Designer, or similar Ability to work on set tasks under limited supervision. Strong computer software skills, including MS Office and Outlook. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Practical and strategic problem-solving skills. High attention to detail and data processing accuracy. Ability to multitask and prioritize a diverse range of tasks. Flexible approach to work. Commitment to a high-performance culture. Strong communication and people skills Strong computer and systems skills and knowledge
