Responsibilities The Opportunity Develop and Maintain Compliance Processes: Establish and document standardized procedures to support the accurate filing of import and export declarations across multiple countries. Collaborate with Stakeholders: Partner with customs broker procurement to select and onboard brokers, transportation providers, sourcing locations, and importing teams ensuring regional service requirements are met. Create and Manage SOPs: Develop comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures to guide internal teams and brokers in compliance and documentation accuracy. Coordinate Broker Communications: Ensure timely and accurate provision of essential data—such as HS Codes, product details, and regulatory information—for customs declarations. Validate Declarations: Ensure direct team is reviewing information submitted for declaration for correctness, verifying alignment with company records, tariff classifications, free trade agreements, and applicable duty programs. Leverage Trade Programs: Optimize use of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), Free Trade Zones (FTZs), and other preferential trade programs for cost-saving and compliance efficiency. Lead and Develop Team Members: Provide guidance, mentorship, and performance support to direct reports, fostering professional growth and regulatory expertise. Your Impact As a SC Sr Analyst, your responsibilities would consist of: In collaboration with Compliance Teams:Work closely with internal compliance teams to document and maintain baselines for applicable Free Trade Agreements, special programs, Free Trade Zones, and duty regimes. Document Incoterm Usage: Ensure Desk Top Procedures (DTPs) are accurate and aligned with country-specific customs declaration formats. Develop Regional Customs Guides: Ensure country-specific customs declaration guides are created detailing required documentation and procedures for import/export clearance. Optimize Duty Strategies: Identify and evaluate new opportunities for duty optimization in support of team productivity goals, leveraging trade agreements and regulatory programs. Partner with Global Trade & Compliance: Align customs documentation with global standards through active coordination with the Global Trade and Compliance group. Align with SMEs: Coordinate with subject matter experts to ensure all import/export documentation is prepared and available at the point of declaration. Support Broker Communication SOPs: Assist in creating, implementing, and standardized communication procedures with customs brokers to maintain smooth operational flow. Drive Continuous Improvement: Promote standardization, knowledge sharing, and process optimization across sectors to elevate decision-making in import/export and trade operations, be an avid advocate of digitalization, driving automation to deliver efficiency/productivity. Strengthen Cross-Sector Relations: Build and maintain collaborative relationships across internal teams to streamline import/export activities. Manage Broker Relations: Maintain regular engagement and support with customs brokers across the region to ensure service consistency. Maintain Operational Transparency: Keep operational records current to provide real-time visibility into customs activities and issues and ensure adherence to the 5yr record retention policy. Support KPI & SLA Tracking: Supply data needed for measuring key performance indicators across import/export, sample filings, and service-level adherence. Enhance Global Collaboration: Engage with global I/E communities to foster sector collaboration, share best practices, and support automation initiatives. Gather Data for Import Security Filing (ISF): Collect and organize information required for timely and compliant ISF filings, if applicable (required for ocean shipments only). Qualifications ¿Who Are We Looking For? Education A degree in International Trade or Customs Management is directly aligned with the role’s core responsibilities. Experience 2–4 years in a similar role with successful results Ability to positively lead and fluence team members across teams and business units. This role is officially 100% on-site (Habitat), however, it is currently in hybrid work environment. Use technical and functional knowledge for navigating critical complex customs regulations and problem-solving. Strong emphasis on clear, concise, professional and global fluency is required for working with brokers, authorities, and internal and external stakeholders. Advanced Spanish and English excellent oral and written required. Have the ability to manage ambiguity and drive change. Advanced Excel, PowerApps, Power BI/Tableau. Ability to create presentations.
