Overview To ensure we produce high quality product for our customers that is complying with our standards. Responsibilities Carry out and record chemical and physical laboratory testing of products, both work-in-progress and finished products, by following the correct methods of analysis and work instructions. Ensure tests are performed in a timely and accurate manner, with all results documented and reported correctly, following strict methodologies. Report any non-conformance to standards promptly to the Laboratory Leader, Quality Teams, or Production (as required), and record corrective actions taken. Perform and record internal calibration checks of laboratory equipment and instruments as per the required intervals. Ensure retained/shelf-life samples are stored effectively for traceability and testing as required. Participate in investigations into product issues and customer complaints. Ensure all reagents, tools, and instruments are kept in proper condition and report any issues in a timely manner. Construct, maintain, and operate standard laboratory equipment, such as titrators, pipetting machines, and pH meters. Carry out any other tasks relevant to the department as requested by department managers. Adhere to Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) within the lab and follow all documented procedures and instructions regarding HACCP, ISO, hygiene, and EHS. Follow and ensure strict safety procedures and complete required safety checks. Perform drinking and wastewater analysis according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Bring any problems to the attention of Lab Supervisors and staff, and provide advice on quality issues. Perform sanitation and hygiene test procedures to ensure compliance with company and local authority standards. Conduct validation and verification of test methods. Participate in food safety activities during the shift. Qualifications Measures: Daily calibration of the equipment. Daily reporting to the Chemist for any defects. Reporting problems to the Supervisor with coordination from the Purchasing Department regarding raw materials. Monitoring weak links to achieve targeted product quality percentages according to procedures (e.g., seasoning/potato defects). Tracking and analyzing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Participation in audits (internal and external). Skills: Educational background in Food Technology, Agricultural Sciences, or related fields; other qualifications are acceptable if supported by relevant training. Good communication skills and proficiency in English. Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Focus on both internal and external customer satisfaction. Familiarity with international food safety and quality standards.
