Job Title: Saw Operator
Job Description

As a Saw Operator, you will be responsible for operating multiple pieces of CNC equipment, including saws, drills, angle machines, sheers, brake presses, and coping machines. You will be expected to transition seamlessly between equipment using the same software and run operations based on nightly orders. Candidates must be capable of gathering raw steel beams or plates using a forklift or overhead crane due to the absence of a material handler.

ResponsibilitiesOperate CNC saws, drills, angle machines, sheers, brake presses, and coping machines.Utilize forklift and overhead crane to gather raw materials.Pull products to supply the Paint department or other areas as needed.Assist in any area required, even if it does not involve operating equipment.Ensure attention to detail and safety while moving and offloading large steel pieces.Work in the yard, handling steel beams stored outdoors.Essential SkillsMinimum 3-5 years experience in CNC operations with various equipment.Ability to read a tape measure accurately.Experience with forklift and overhead crane operation.Proficiency in blueprint reading and troubleshooting.Knowledge of mechanical and fabrication processes.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with machine setup and operation.Competence in inspection and steel fabrication.Familiarity with hand tools, bandsaw, tooling, CNC mill, and lathe.Knowledge of construction, inventory, press brake, production, punch press, shear, calipers.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

Work in a steel fabrication shop with a non-climate controlled environment. Safety is a priority, and you will need to wear steel toe boots and safety glasses. The facility operates on a second shift from 3:30pm to 2am, Monday through Thursday, and 3:30pm to 8:30pm on Fridays. Expect a minimum 50-hour work week with occasional Saturdays. Training will occur on the day shift for one to two weeks. Be prepared to work in a loud and heavy industrial setting with overhead cranes, welding stations, and metal fabricating machines.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
