Job Description
As a Satellite Electrical Systems Engineer, you will take ownership of the electrical design of the satellite, coordinating activities related to the platform and payload. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining DC power budgets and performing EMC analyses at the system level, as well as interpreting unit-level EMC test reports for impact analysis. You will review communication Payload RF transmitter/receiver analyses and test results, recommending necessary design enhancements to ensure electromagnetic compatibility with Platform subsystems. You will prepare system-level EMC test plans and conduct satellite-level EMC testing, support platform design activities related to grounding and shielding, troubleshoot EMC-related issues, and assist with systems engineering documentation. Additionally, you will support various program reviews.
ResponsibilitiesOwn the electrical design of the satellite and coordinate activities related to the platform and the payload.Develop and maintain DC power budgets for the satellite.Perform required EMC analyses at system level and interpret unit-level EMC test reports for impact analysis.Review communication Payload RF transmitter/receiver analyses and test results, recommending design enhancements for electromagnetic compatibility.Prepare system-level EMC test plans and conduct satellite-level EMC testing.Support platform design activities related to grounding and shielding, and wiring harness signal segregation and routing.Troubleshoot EMC-related issues on integrated satellite and Platform Engineering Model test setups.Support RF/EMC aspects of systems engineering documentation including requirements specifications, statement of compliance, verification matrix, and design descriptions.Support various program reviews: EQSR, SRR, PDR, and CDR.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in electrical or aerospace engineering.10+ years of relevant electrical, RF, and/or EMC engineering experience.Substantial experience with large-scale system-level EMC testing.Experience with unit-level EMC testing per international standards.Experience in systems engineering with experience in RF, digital and analog electronic unit designs, and wiring harnesses.Additional Skills & QualificationsUnderstanding of the space environment and communication satellites.Demonstrated capability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.Ability to lead and mentor junior members of the engineering team.Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of French is favorable.Work Environment
This is a remote opportunity with 25% international travel. You will be part of an exciting program supporting a billion-dollar satellite constellation, contributing to a client with over 450 successful missions.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $75.00 - $100.00/hr.
