SAP Test Manager

 

Our Technology team are looking for an experienced SAP Test Manager to join them on a permanent basis in either London or Frating, Colchester.

 

Joining a newly created team and reporting into the ERP Programme Director, the SAP Test Manager will take the lead on managing all SAP testing required within our Transformation programme. Working collaboratively with all members of the SAP Centre of Excellence teams, you’ll be responsible for testing the process, development and management of test plans.

The role

 

Key responsibilities:

 

Developing plans for SAP applications (OCR, Concur, Invoice Error Handling and HR mini Master) ensuring budget controls are adhered to. Managing development requests from internal stakeholders. Development lifecycle planning for SAP applications, including the identification and communication of any issues with overlaps to ensure management and timely resolution of potential risks. Communicating deployment processes into the live environment across SAP Solutions teams. Work with both external suppliers and internal development teams to co-ordinate developments, testing and deployments. Chair development testing planning meetings to prioritise testing requests with the business stakeholders. Identify, manage and communicate any risks and dependencies between new solutions released as part of SAP Transformation programme. Work with ERP Programme Director, Technology Project Managers, SAP Process Manager and SAP Environments Manager to ensure testing dates are communicated and co-ordinated with operational activity. Work with the SAP teams to design and implement changes to the test and release processes for all SAP applications impacted by changes to the testing environments. Responsible for the coordination of IT and UAT testing, liaising with end users to ensure requirements and timescales are communicated, planned and understood. Manage delivery from 3rd party vendors, ensuring any issues and concerns over delivery and quality are managed, understood and resolved. Ensure code has been through a rigorous QA process before handing over to the end users for UAT. Ensure test scripts are in place for all UAT and regression testing being part of the transformation programme. Ensure testing specifications are properly linked to detailed business requirements, liaising with internal teams to plan and deliver regression testing. Work with suppliers and internal development teams to ensure the code being delivered into live is of sufficient quality to limit the impact on the live operation. Further develop the automation test tool to deliver a robust SAP functional testing process and maximise its potential. Ownership and on-going management of the release module in Jira and Service Now. Chair go/no go meetings for the deployments; presenting test results and the release plan to gain buy in from the relevant stakeholders and the Service Owner.

 

What you’ll bring

 

Essential criteria:

 

Proven track record of effectively supporting business systems and SAP applications, Concur, OCR systems and HR mini master. Previous SAP management experience, with a background in working as a Test Analyst within SAP environments. ITIL qualification. Proven track record of improving testing processes and an understanding of the different development methodologies. Experience of acting as the main point of contact with users, IT departments and suppliers. Understanding of the different development methodologies. Experience in interface testing, writing detailed test scripts and test plans. Understanding of integration testing and the ability to work alongside other project teams and 3rd parties. Understanding and experience of SAP solutions and which testing are required. Experience of working with testing tools e.g. Jira, Service Now.

 

Preferred criteria:

 

Able to thrive in fast paced and high-pressure environments, finding solutions in a timely manner. Ability to quickly assimilate complex information and use judgement to draw conclusions and make recommendations. Ability to work with ambiguity and use judgement to drive forward deliverables.

The salary for this opportunity will be dependent on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus a generous bonus scheme and benefits.

 

Hybrid working

 

While our offices across the UK are places to connect, collaborate and celebrate with colleagues, we recognise that flexibility around where you work is just as important. For this role we expect that you will work from the Embassy Gardens office in London 2 days per week, with a willingness to travel to our site in Frating, Colchester on occasion.
