SAP S/4 HANA consultant - dining
Job Description Our client is looking for an SAP S/4 Hana consultant with experience in Dining, Restaurant, Grocery or Consumer Product Goods (CPG) experience. Our client has already implemented SAP S4 Hana and is having some challenges with solving for and configuring Units of Measure issues. We are looking for someone who has solved for Units of Measure issues in dining or similar industry in the past. Our client is looking for an SAP S4HANA consultant to assist with the issues below for their Dining implementation. These are around Unit of Measure Issues (EDI, BOMs). In preparing for the implementation of the EDI (electronic data interchange) Portal for Dining, there are several critical configuration and integration issues that must be addressed to ensure smooth functionality between CPI, SAP, and the supplier systems. key concerns that require resolution prior to execution: 1. Unit of Measure Qualifier (CPI/SAP Compatibility) Dining suppliers may submit purchase orders with varying Units of Measure (UoM) such as Case, Box, or Each, depending on how the product is packaged or shipped. • Issue: SAP expects a consistent UoM configuration, current CPI/SAP does not recognize UOM Qualifier on EDI invoice. 2. Quantity with Decimal Values (Weight-Based Products) Some products—particularly those ordered by weight (e.g., meats, cheeses)—may be transmitted with quantities including decimal values, often up to three decimal places. • Issue: SAP has limited tolerance for decimals in quantity fields, particularly in scenarios involving purchase orders and goods receipts. 3. Use of VSN/EAN for Product Identification Incoming products may be identified using either a Vendor Stock Number (VSN) or EAN/UPC. A single product might be associated with different identifiers depending on the UoM or vendor configuration. • Issue: SAP can only store one VSN per material, but the same item may arrive under different VSNs depending on pack size or UoM. 4. Varying Units in Alternative Unit of Measure based on Vendors Shipping warehouse (ex. Sysco California vs Florida) • Issue: SAP can only maintain one version of Case, however the units in a case might vary based on shipping warehouse, See point 3 as different configurations would probably have different VSNs 5. Decimal Values on Low Cost per Unit Goods (Semi-Finished Products) • Issue: Limited tolerance in SAP for decimals in cost calculations particularly in semi-finished goods with large quantity yields. 6. Split Quantities for Goods with the Each Unit of Measure • Issue: SAP does not take the usage of partial on recipe bill of materials into account when cost is calculated and inventory is decremented.
