Corporate Processes & IT (CPIT) is the internal IT organization for SAP. Our purpose is to CREATE, BUILD, and RUN an intelligent enterprise by providing customer-centric insights and technologies.
As a Generative AI Engineer Intern at Generative AI Center of Excellence (GenAI CoE), you'll join our expansive Enterprise AI Center of Excellence within the Technology Services department. Collaborate with a global team of AI engineers, scientists, and product managers based in Germany, France, and Singapore. What you’ll do
Work alongside a team of AI scientist, engineers, product owners, and domain experts.
Assist the development and deployment of AI solutions to improve business efficiency and productivity.
Assist the co-development of Large Language Model Platform-as-a-Service with product engineering teams
Assist the development of scalable, reusable services to support applications powered by Generative AI
Assist the maintenance of production system to ensure high availability and performance
Experiment with different Large Language Model deployments, e.g. vLLM, LiteLLM, etc.
Contribute to platform application development using CAP or Python FastAPI.
Communicate with stakeholders to understand internal business processes and challenges.
Experiment with different techniques (e.g. prompt engineering, fine-tuning, agentic workflows etc).
Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in machine learning and GenAI technologies, and evaluate their potential applications in business processes.
What you bring
Currently in a Bachelor's or Master's degree course in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or any other related field.
Must be able to commit to a full-time internship employment for a period no shorter than three months.
Proficiency in one or more of these programming languages: JavaScript, TypeScript, Python.
Proficiency in development tools such as Git.
Experience with Generative AI technical stack (e.g. agent frameworks, RAG, etc.), including integrating and applying them in real world projects.
Experience with Python-based AI/ML frameworks, specifically LangChain and LlamaIndex.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently with ownership, and as part of a team with strong sense of responsibilities.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Proficiency in backend application development using NodeJS or FastAPI is a plus.
Proficiency in frontend frameworks such as Vue, React, Angular is a plus.
Proficiency in deployment tools such as Docker or Kubernetes is a plus.
Experience with SAP UI5 or Open UI5 is a plus.
Experience with app deployment on SAP Business Technology Platform is a plus.
