SAP Deposits & Loans Expert

Job Description:

Job Summary 

The SAP Deposits & Loans Expert is responsible for leading end-to-end delivery of SAP Banking solutions covering Deposits Management and Loans Management. The role involves overseeing the implementation and optimization of customer account and lending products, ensuring regulatory compliance, operational accuracy, and full lifecycle support for banking operations. 

This role requires expertise in SAP Banking Services (formerly BS 7.x), with a strong understanding of financial products, account structures, repayment plans, interest and fee handling, as well as integration with financial accounting. Direct engagement with banking clients is expected to gather requirements, map product behavior, and support production and audit-readiness. 

Key Responsibilities 

Lead implementation of SAP Deposits and Loans modules (SAP DM and SAP CML) 

Design and configure customer account structures, loan contracts, payment schedules, and settlement rules 

Define interest calculation methods, charges, conditions, and payment flows 

Manage integration with FI-GL, BCA, TRM, and collateral management 

Coordinate technical teams for posting logic, mass runs, and batch processing 

Oversee regulatory and business reporting readiness (e.g., IFRS9, Basel compliance) 

Conduct workshops, define blueprint documents, and validate functional specs 

Ensure data migration and account conversion strategy is robust and audit-compliant 

Lead UAT, system validation, and cutover planning 

Provide go-live support, post-implementation tuning, and ongoing issue resolution 

Required Qualifications & Skills 

Education & Certifications 

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Information Systems, or related field 

SAP Certification in Banking Services (Deposits or Loans Management) preferred 

Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent) is a plus 

Industry certifications in banking, lending, or risk are beneficial 

Experience 

8–12 years of SAP Core Banking experience, including at least 5 years in Deposits or Loans 

At least 2 years in a managerial or lead functional role 

Strong experience in commercial or retail banking projects involving SAP DM or CML 

Proven involvement in design, testing, and support of account lifecycle management processes 

At least 5 years of experience in the Banking sector 

Technical & Functional Skills 

Expertise in: 

Deposits Management: Product definition, condition groups, account lifecycle events 

Loans Management (CML): Contract setup, payment schedules, interest calculation, prepayment 

Integration knowledge with BCA, GL, TRM, and collateral management 

Familiarity with posting controls, events, and SAP banking-specific mass activities 

Understanding of financial accounting postings, valuation, and interest accruals 

Exposure to regulatory frameworks (IFRS9, BCBS, AML/KYC) as relevant to account and loan handling 

Ability to define and validate functional specifications for extensions 

Soft Skills 

Strong communication skills with business and technical stakeholders 

Leadership and mentoring capability within functional teams 

Analytical thinking and structured problem-solving 

Documentation and process mapping discipline 

Ability to manage complex banking requirements under tight timelines 

Client-facing mindset with focus on delivery quality and compliance 

Work Environment & Conditions 

Consulting environment supporting large-scale banking transformation programs 

Travel may be required within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia 

Collaboration with international banking, finance, and technical teams 

Involvement in regulatory audits, compliance checks, and internal controls 

Participation in requirement gathering, testing cycles, and go-live planning 

Continuous learning via SAP certifications and regulatory updates
