Business Unit Overview 8th Avenue Food & Provisions is a growing organization made up of businesses that produce and sell quality products including pasta, peanut butter, granola, and fruit and nut trail mixes to retail, foodservice and ingredient customers. The company was formed in October 2018 through a combination of Post Holdings’ private brands businesses and is owned by Post Holdings and funds affiliated with Thomas H. Lee Partners, L.P. (“THL”), a private equity firm. Responsibilities The Sanitation Supervisor supervises and coordinates activities of sanitation workers. Responsible for the sanitary condition of the facilities and production equipment/tools through effective cleaning and proper scheduling of cleaning. Maintains cost-effectiveness of the operation of the department. Responsibility or Job/Duty Description Direct and monitor all sanitation workers and schedules sanitation activities. Ensure all employees who engage in sanitation activities follow safety requirements, GMPs and company policies. Directs SSOP program and master sanitation program. Reviews and maintains all documentation. Provides or coordinates on-going training and ensures development of sanitation to ensure that sanitation workers possess active working knowledge of all sanitation and cleaning procedures. Participate in selection, discipline and evaluation of department staff. Documentation of training Implementation of training plan Oversee and delegate duties to both sanitation and production personnel to ensure cleanliness and regulatory compliance throughout the facility. Ensure cleaning/sanitation chemicals and tools are being used safely, correctly and effectively. Works with the Sanitation Manager to identify resource needs. Ensure proper sanitation methods and practices are utilized and followed. Controls the Sanitation Department budgets by properly utilizing resources and manpower. Daily walk through the facility and follow up with corrective actions. Schedule Sanitors to maximize efficiency and effectiveness. Evaluates sanitation requirements and provides clear timelines and expectations for task completion, balancing sanitation needs with production demands. Visually inspect Sanitors work to monitor adherence to proper sanitation standards. Analyze workload and adjust schedules to ensure safe, high quality and timely work Maintain adequate inventory of sanitation chemicals, tools, and protection gears. Lead, mentor, and motivate team members to achieve their goals and perform to the best of their abilities. This position requires a flexible work schedule, including availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed to meet sanitation and operational goals. Candidates must be willing to adjust hours to ensure compliance with sanitation standards and timely completion of cleaning protocols. Document sanitation inspections and maintain accurate records for compliance and audit purposes. Ensure that all cleaned equipment is safe for food contact and free of contaminants, and ready for production Other Duties as assigned. Minimum Education, Experience & Skills Requirements High school, BA/BS preferred, understanding of food safety Must be HACCP certified and familiar with all aspects of a HACCP based Food Safety Program (GFSI/SQF/BRC). Must have at least 2-3 years of prior Supervisor or 4-5 years’ experience as a Lead with verifiable leadership experience. English; communication, reading, grammar, writing skills etc. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft office, Outlook, Word, Excel, Power point, etc. Internet research, typing skills, Minimum Physical Requirements Must be able to carry at least 50lbs occasionally and be able to perform a variety of physical activities such as lifting, carrying, and climbing, Must be able to work at heights. Must be able to stand for up to 12 hours Must be able to work with cleaning chemicals and hot water on a regular basis.
