About the role.
This position reports directly to the Food Safety and Quality Manager and is a key member of the Plant Leadership team. Sanitation Supervisor has responsibility for ensuring a high standard of sanitation and good manufacturing practices within the sanitation program at the factory.
What you’ll be doing.
Lead the sanitation department to ensure that all food safety guidelines are met while adhering to all human and chemical safety procedures. Be responsible for the training and effectiveness of the HACCP Sanitation Manual and ensuring it is kept current. Work closely with production, quality and maintenance in directing activities during sanitation days and daily sanitation activities, as well as working closely with the corporate quality department to implement new sanitation standards and reporting requirements. Be an active leader in the plant’s fryer safety program, which involves mentoring and training all fryer operators and supervisors to help eliminate fryer fire risk and improve overall operation of the equipment. Lead the Sanitation Team in safe working practices, including chemical handling, PPE, and other requirements. Develop and manage the annual chemical and sanitation budget. Liaison between McCain and third party contractors for all chemical inventory, equipment upgrades and training requirements, Maintain plant pest-control program with our third party pest control division. Ensure compliance with the McCain Foods’ sanitation guidelines, customer requirements and government requirements. Have a clear understanding of the manufacturing process and equipment function in order to ensure proper equipment sanitation. Participate in food safety audits in conjunction with Quality department. Annual performance management of Day Sanitation team and performs other projects and/or duties as assigned or needed. Incorporate sanitation goals into the plant continuous improvement programs (MDI, MSS, EMP etc.). Ensure all Sanitation team member safety trainings stay up to date. (WHMIS, Chemical Safety, Personal Protective Equipment, and Lockout Procedures, TDG, Forklift, Scissor/Boom Lift, Personal Fall Protection, First Aid, Confined Space). Manage parts and chemical stock and work with suppliers via Coupa. Create boilout PO’s and stage materials as needed in SAP. Manage all team HR functions via SuccessFactors and/or Ultipro. Complete GEMBA walks and Safety Interactions as scheduled. All other job duties as assigned
What you’ll need to be successful.
Strong communications skills, ability to work in a team environment in a leading and participating role. Clear understanding of the sanitation processes and HACCP/GMP Self-motivated individual capable of leading new initiatives with little direct supervision Supervise, coach & provide direction to the employees in the sanitation department. Minimum 1-year experience in a production environment, at a supervisory level Ability to promote teamwork and good GMP practices throughout the factory. A good working knowledge of all the equipment in the facility Basic knowledge of microbiology Full understanding of the factory chemicals Support department relations Mechanically inclined Computer skills necessary to create/maintain cleanup Gantt Charts

Compensation Package: $65,500.00 - $87,400.00 . CAD annually + Bonus Eligibility
The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education and training, and other organizational needs.
