Responsibilities About the role: The Salesforce CoE (Center of Excellence) Lead is recognized organization-wide as a leader and subject matter expert. We are seeking an energetic, dynamic, and innovative leader and influencer, acting as an avid promoter of process improvement to enhance productivity and performance of the organization. This is a high-level technical leader recognized as an expert both internally and externally. This person will represent GM Financial in the broader community as a brand ambassador and maintain a strong network in the community. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the strategic direction, governance, and operational management of the Salesforce platform. This role will oversee the development and implementation of best practices, drive innovation, and ensure alignment with business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Salesforce, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record of driving successful Salesforce initiatives. In this role, you will: Leadership: Develop and execute the strategic vision for the Salesforce CoE. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team. Provide thought leadership and guidance on Salesforce best practices and emerging trends. Represent the Salesforce CoE in executive meetings and strategic planning sessions. Be responsible for big picture thinking, strategic direction, presenting to executive stakeholders, and holding engineering teams accountable for overarching delivery goals. Governance and Compliance: Establish and enforce governance policies and best practices for Salesforce usage. Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with relevant regulations. Develop and maintain documentation for processes, policies, and procedures related to Salesforce. Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into Salesforce solutions. Act as a liaison between the Salesforce CoE and other departments to ensure alignment and effective communication. Provide training and support to Salesforce users across the organization. Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, promoting a culture of open communication and collaboration. Operate as a trusted advisor for a specific technology, platform or capability domain, helping to shape use cases and implementation in an unified manner Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, UX/UI, Quality Assurance, and DevOps Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement and innovation within the Salesforce platform. Stay up-to-date with the latest Salesforce features, releases, and industry trends. Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation using Salesforce. Resource Management: Manage the Salesforce budget and salesforce specific resources effectively. Oversee vendor relationships and manage contracts related to Salesforce services and products. Technical Guidance and Mentoring: Provide hands-on technical guidance and mentorship to software engineers, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, and establishing and enforcing coding standards through thorough code reviews. Qualifications What makes you a dream candidate? Extensive experience in the design, development, and delivery in the salesforce ecosystem in an enterprise environment Excellent decision-making skills with the ability to balance conflicting interests in a complex and fast-paced environment. Thorough understanding of distributed technologies, public cloud technologies, scalable platforms, full stack development, ML- platforms, Generative AI and Operational Excellence Business acumen; combining technical vision with business insights. Ability to thoroughly understand leaders’ perspectives, develop consensus and confidently communicate final recommendations and decisions with credibility Proven relationship management skills and ability to influence others to achieve results by working across the organization, being open to ideas and actively engaging and influencing others Advanced skills in providing leadership through mentorship, influence, inspiration, collaboration and teamwork Exemplifies professional behavior in using logic, analysis and judgment when encountering challenges Demonstrated ability to map long-term vision for the organization and generate innovative ideas that create value Ability to effectively maintain and grow strong working relationships and build trust with peers, cross-functional partners and related professional organizations Proven ability to make smart decisions that have organization-wide impact with a strong sense of urgency to accelerate continuous progression Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Create and drive adoption to salesforce patterns and best practices Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. 10+ years of experience in Salesforce administration, architecture, development, and management. 12+ years in related function(s) required 5-7 years leading through mentorship in related field required 5-7 years driving thought leadership and innovation across products required Proven experience in leading and managing a Salesforce CoE or similar function. Experience working in an environment with multiple Salesforce instances, including multiple orgs on a single instance is a must Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture, products, and best practices. Technical and architecture Salesforce certifications (e.g., Salesforce Certified Data Architect, Salesforce Certified Advanced Administrator, Salesforce Certified System Architect) are required. Salesforce Certified Technical Architect (CTA) certification is highly preferred.
