Run What Runs the World

At ABB, we help important industries outrun - leaner and cleaner.

Every person here makes that happen. By rethinking, rewiring, and improving, we combine the world’s best minds and technologies to elevate performance to a whole new level.

Because at ABB, progress is an expectation - for you, your team, and the world. As a Sales Specialist, you’ll take on challenges that transform industries and drive innovation. We give you the market-leading expertise, technology, and opportunity, and you own the challenge to make an impact that matters.

It won’t always be easy. Growing takes grit. Innovating takes the courage to try, fail, learn, and succeed. But at ABB, you’ll never run alone.

Your Role: Own the Challenge/Take on the Journey

We are looking to hire sales personnel to sell ABB Force Measurement products used for quality control in the downstream process of ferrous and non-ferrous products to the following types of customers:

A: Ferrous and non-ferrous metal manufacturers
   B: Rolling mill manufacturers

For customer type A, they are end users of ABB products. The sales style tends to be mainly route sales. The primary responsibility is to promote replacement sales for existing ABB products. In terms of new business development, the focus is on proposing ABB products as replacements to end users who currently use competitors' products in their production lines. Sales specialists regularly visit customer factories and make technical proposals by consulting with ABB’s factory in Sweden and the domestic ABB service center in Shizuoka. Since responsibilities are assigned per customer rather than by region, business trips may occur throughout Japan.

For customer type B, they install ABB products into the rolling mills they manufacture and participate in bids for EPC projects as a package. The sales representative needs to understand the customer’s project specifications and propose ABB products on a project basis. Business trips are mainly to the Kansai, Chugoku, and Kanto regions. A large portion of the final product destinations is overseas.

We are planning to recruit individuals who are suitable for sales roles in either A or B.
