Job Description

Position Summary:

Sell research products and services in assigned territory to customers in various research and quality assurance fields.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain effective customer relations with purchasing and end user within assigned territoryMake decisions independently, using available resources to meet customer needs and collaborate with cross-functional teams; Establish relationships within the account to support networking and prospecting.Perform sales calls and vendor relations with all customers and potential customers in the assigned territoryStay updated on competitor and industry happenings; Incorporate findings into business plan; Launch new products/servicesManage pricing and negotiates within territory to control profitabilityMaintain accurate reporting, records, and files necessary for effective territory managementCommunicate with supervisor any customer issues or potential problems, perform other tasks assigned by managerInform customers of supply and price trends and assist in inventory control, consults with customersPositively represent Thermo Fisher Scientific at all times throughout customer locations

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

3+ years of sales experience, preferably in the research laboratory industryBachelor’s degree, preferably in the sciencesStrong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and presentation skillsComputer proficiency in MS Office and the internetMust possess the organizational skills to multi-task and meet deadlines as neededStrong industry, pharmaceutical and science background preferredMust be able and willing to travel to customer locationsDemonstrates the Thermo Fisher values (The Four I’s) – Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement
