Sales Representative-Chemical/Personal Care

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Sales Representative to join our team in the Los Angeles, CA area. This individual will be responsible for driving sales growth and fostering strong customer and supplier relationships within an assigned territory, with a focus on the Chemical and Personal Care sectors. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the chemical industry and be adept at managing both strategic and tactical sales initiatives. This is Direct job.
Pay Rate: 100K plus commission
Key Responsibilities: Represent the company professionally within the assigned territory, promoting its brand, values, and product offerings. Identify and acquire new customers while strengthening relationships with existing clients. Develop and execute territory sales plans to achieve revenue and margin targets. Establish and maintain regular contact with clients through meetings, calls, and presentations. Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the entire sales cycle, from initial engagement to post-sale follow-up. Conduct a minimum of five (5) customer visits daily and maintain detailed records, submitting at least fifty (50) customer call reports per month. Actively pursue new business opportunities through cold calling and lead generation, building a robust sales pipeline. Maintain expert-level knowledge of product lines to conduct consultative sales meetings and deliver value-added solutions. Manage and grow key supplier relationships; collaborate to develop and implement product marketing strategies. Monitor market trends, analyze territory potential, and provide detailed tracking of sales metrics and forecasts. Support internal purchasing teams by providing relevant sales data and contributing to inventory planning and management standards. Participate in industry events, training sessions, and internal meetings to stay informed of new developments and best practices. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific discipline is strongly preferred; candidates with a business degree and a strong aptitude for the sciences will be considered. Minimum of 5 years of experience in chemical sales; chemical distribution experience is highly desirable. Proven track record of at least 10 years of successful sales experience, particularly in the Personal Care or specialty chemical industries. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Strong analytical and organizational abilities with attention to detail. Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.
