BASIC FUNCTION: The sales representative is responsible for developing business opportunities, engaging with existing and prospective customers to assess their needs, effectively communicating how M&C can meet their requirements, building positive relationships with customers, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The job is based in the Metro Philadelphia region.

Duties:

Initiate contact with existing and prospective customers to assess their needs and introduce M&C’s  capabilities/product solutions.Identify and close new business opportunities with existing and prospective target customersEngage closely with M&C technical support team in satisfying customer needs; recommending material options; and evaluating designs, specifications and drawingsCollaborate with customers’ engineering and sourcing teams to develop, offer, and sell innovative fabricated product solutions; negotiate pricing; and manage the coordination of projectsBuild, maintain, expand, and leverage strong business relationships with customers, prospects, and suppliersParticipate in our long range and annual sales planning budget preparation/discussions and quarterly regional sales business review meetings, trade shows, and related industry conferencesContinually assess competitive activity and trends to identify opportunities Achieve sales plans consistent with the PSAC group’s penetration and growth strategiesEffectively utilize sales processes and tools (CRM, PBI, TOF) to manage new business activity and customer interactions (i.e. call reporting, quarterly reports and other Key Performance Indicators necessary to effectively manage the territory)Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports per established scheduleUphold the ITW values, principles of conduct, and culture in all business activities 

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in business or related field4+ years of relevant sales experience

Skills/Qualifications:

Highly motivated, results-oriented individuals who can self-manage time, workload and multiple competing prioritiesStrong leadership, organizational, listening, problem solving and reasoning skillsSolid Microsoft office skills and CRM experienceDemonstrated competency for developing and maintaining relationships with key decision makers.Strong understanding and follow up of sales processes.Ability to research companies and contacts through various methods (web search, existing records in CRM, suppliers, other tools/websites)Ability and comfort level making unsolicited customer and prospect customer contactsFoster strong, collaborative relationships with multiple customer contacts and buying influences within an organizationCommunicating the benefits of M&C’s capabilities, value added services, and innovative solutions resulting in  customer revenue growth and retention, gain in market share, and profitability goalsUnderstand the needs of customers and communicate these needs effectively with internal support team with an appropriate sense of urgencyExcellent time management and ability to prioritize tasksAbility to travel up to 10-20% as required

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is

regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hearfrequently required to reach with hands and armsis occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, crouch and lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
