Sales Manager – Government/Navy/DOE

Our EST team is looking for a Sales Manager - Government/Navy/DOE to join the team in Hatfield! You will be responsible for evaluating and managing strategic business opportunities and initiatives, with the Government, Navy, and DOE markets. You will also conduct market analysis, monitor competitive activity, and identify customer need as well as provide leadership in the planning, designing, due diligence, and implementing of business objectives and initiatives.

Your Challenge

Sales and leadership responsibility for company’s Department of Defense and Department of Energy accounts.

Develop Sales Forecasts – Top Level through Regional level

Achieve established Sales Forecast and objectives

Report and Communicate progress toward objectives

Maintain company’s leadership position with existing DoD and DoE business accounts.

Make Sales calls and technical presentations NAVSEA 05 and 08

Review and ghost-write updates to NAVSEA Technical Manuals and Tech Pubs to  represent procedures for use of company’s products and services.

Identify new opportunities within DoD and DoE accounts for company products and services.

Engage Customer through direct sales efforts; through Regional sales team; and via established sales channels.

Coordinate sales efforts with other CW Business Units

Review Solicitations / RFQ’s; prepare and submit technical proposals

Travel – set up and make technical sales calls and presentations for existing, new and prospective DoD / DoE customers. Participate in technical conferences and tradeshows.

Identify and develop opportunities for business expansion and prepare detailed business cases and recommendations.

Develop marketing strategies and provide input into long-range business plans.

Maintain level of oversight to ensure compliance with industry regulations, regulatory agencies, export laws and technology transfer as they apply to proposal development and contract negotiation.

Conduct research assessment and due diligence activities.

Structure, secure approval and execute negotiations strategies to capture contracts for new and existing products.

Maintain call activities in CRM

Your Expertise

Ability to structure/manage business dynamics with strong strategic thinking and planning skills, strong risk management skills, strong team building, quantitative analysis, and project management.

Negotiation experience and expertise.

Excellent interpersonal skills.  Must be comfortable with all levels of customer base. 

Excellent written and verbal skills, including technical writing and proposal writing.

Experience analyzing RFPs and bid documents, compiling cost estimates, and writing bid packages and proposals.

Minimum 5 years of sales experience to Federal Government/DoD agencies.

Must have experience with US Government contracting and procurement processes.

Technical Sales experience within an engineering, construction, or scientific environment.

Able to travel domestically up to 10%.

BS/BA in Engineering; Technical; or Business preferred.

Prior Military Service with honorable discharge a plus.

US Citizen.

Have/be able to obtain Security Clearance.
