Los Angeles Convention Center located in the heart of vibrant downtown LA, the Los Angeles Convention Center is a leading venue for conventions, trade shows and exhibitions. The center is committed to delivering excellent service and exceeding expectations for clients and guests at every event. SUMMARYThe candidate will support the Vice President of Sales & Marketing in promoting the Los Angeles Convention Center’s image and message. They will lead marketing initiatives to elevate the Center’s public and industry presence, manage brand identity, and oversee the creation and distribution of promotional materials. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Effectively position the LACC as part of the overall DTLA campus, And, as a premiere large market ASM Global/Legends venue.• Promote potential upcoming facility expansion, upcoming event details on LACC Event Calendar; Partner with event organizers to drive attendance/amplify messaging where applicable.• Create and distribute monthly internal newsletters to facilitate team member engagement and event discount offers to city partners.• Prepare and distribute facility press releases and handle press-related inquiries, as required. • Seek out and apply for industry Awards and recognition. • Develop advertising and business promotion programs • Support the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board’s efforts in positioning the venue within the meetings and events marketplace. • Keep up to date on relevant marketing trends in to facilitate and improve the LACC’s positioning and communication through external webinars, seminars, conferences. Website / Social Media• Work alongside VP of Sales/Marketing to develop and implement the LACC Strategic Marketing Plan, with a strong focus on website and social media growth with increased followers and engagement. • Utilize the LACC’s social channels to promote upcoming event details, facility achievements, and LACC’s Sustainability Initiatives• Responsible for all website updates to support the needs of the sales team, event marketing team, City of Los Angeles, and the center overall. Monitor related traffic and chatter.Collateral and In-House Assets • Create and update LACC digital and print collateral to support internal teams, and new initiatives such as sustainability programs and upcoming facility expansion. • Work collectively with all internal departments to create Annual Report including content writing, image collection and design direction.• Develop in-house messaging and directional signage for digital screens (working with third-party vendor)• Create static signage where needed throughout the property. Manage Direct Report • Work closely with Assistant Marketing Manager to oversee the delivery of creative assets social media strategy: Liaise with cross-functional partners to establish goals, manage progress and deliver outcomes. Oversee photography for all major events for promotional and in-house use  Post upcoming events to facility’s exterior screens Manage ASM Global / Legends Marketing Relationship• Regularly and effectively share LACC achievements with ASM Global/Legends through established channels.• Attend all scheduled TEAMS calls with ASM Global/Legends marketing leads for updates and collaboration. Attend in-person ASM Global/ Legends annual marketing conference. + Perform other duties, special projects and responsibilities as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS1. Minimum of five (5) years previous experience in Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, or related industry experience (i.e., advertising agency, radio/television) required. Combination of education and experience will be considered. 2. Must be able to adapt to change; change is a constant and necessary path for involvement and growth. 3. Maintains a positive and professional attitude and the ability to deal well with last minute assignment changes and priorities. Possess the ability to analyze and resolve problems, exercising good judgement independent of direct supervision.4. Must be able to commit to meeting expectations/requirements of internal and external customers. 5. Can create strong morale and spirit within team; shares wins and successes; fosters open dialogue; creates a feeling of belonging in the team. Collaborates with other LACC Departments using effective communication while respecting the chain of command.6. Excellent Customer Service skills required. Ability to maintain good business relations with guests, clients, and service providers.7. Must have reliable transportation.8. Required variable work schedule such as late hours, early mornings, extended hours, holidays, and weekends. 9. This is an onsite position that requires in-person collaboration with multiple departments and coverage of events from start to finish. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEA minimum education level of: High School Diploma or its equivalency (Bachelor of Arts/Sciences Degree Preferred) Area of Study: Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, or related field. SKILLS AND ABILITIES• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), database management, website hosting & management and the ability to learn required business systems. Must have photography experience.• Must possess exceptional verbal, listening, and written communication skills with strong proofreading abilities. Be knowledgeable in the terminology used in public events or convention center, arena, and entertainment venues with strong creative, strategic and analytical skills, including ability to facilitate, plan and organize. • Experienced in creating social media strategies. Knowledge of best practices for social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.• Must be a self-starter with excellent people skills and enthusiastic attitude. • Must possess strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail; able to multi-task toward goal achievement while working effectively under tight deadlines. • Able to manage projects independently in a high-pressure environment. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS• Experience in the Convention Center, Hospitality or Entertainment industry preferred.• Knowledge of Momentus (Ungerboeck Systems Inc) is preferred.
