Sales Intern - California Bay Area

JOB OBJECTIVE: Seeking a Sales Intern professional to work closely with the Northern California Sales Team to support customer engagement efforts across key life science market segments. This role offers hands-on experience in sales operations and customer relationship management while contributing to Promega’s business development efforts across strategic and high-potential accounts, exposure to various key market segments for life science sales, and business channel exposure, as well as learnings toward a highly collaborative, consultative partnership sales approach. CORE DUTIES: Client Engagement, Outreach and Relationship Building: 1. Engage with strategic accounts using Promega’s client resource management system (CRM) to manage interactions and ensure a robust, responsive relationship. 2. Use LinkedIn to identify and connect with potential leads, focusing on stakeholders in firms that are part of California’s life science research market segments. 3. Schedule and conduct meetings to discuss the benefits of Promega's Portfolio and services, and how these can provide a competitive edge to their research and development efforts. 4. Cross-selling and opportunity management in conjunction with the client representative. 5. Utilize PowerBI systems to track and analyze sales data and trends. Update contacts in CRM. Product and Service Promotion: 1. Assist in promoting and aligning Promega’s innovative products and services, focusing on how these meet the unique needs and bring value to each client. 2. Help facilitate early access to new products and services, ensuring that strategic accounts are aware of the latest innovations. 3. Proactive prospecting to grow business connections and opportunities- including but not limited to: helping coordinate vendor shows, support customer meetings, and follow up on sample requests. Content and Data Strategy Using AI Tools: 1. Employ AI tools such as ChatGPT to develop content strategies, enhance data analysis, and condense research papers to tailor Promega technologies to specific laboratory needs. 2. Use AI-driven insights to craft personalized communication and marketing materials for different client segments. Sales Tracking and Reporting: 1. Regularly update CRM with sales progress, client feedback, and market intelligence to optimize sales strategies and tactics. 2. Analyze sales performance data to understand the impact of strategic initiatives and refine approaches accordingly. Inclusion and Safety: 1. Undergraduate pursuing a degree or recent graduate majoring in science and/or business. 2. Interest in the business of life science sales and basics of strategic selling. 3. Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment. 4. Outstanding organizational and intrapersonal skills. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Ability to travel preferred but not required. 2. Comfortable leveraging AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Microsoft Co-Pilot, Integrated AI features) to enhance productivity, analyze sales data, and generate actionable insights. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 1. Ability to use Microsoft Office applications. 2. Ability to move up to twenty-five pounds. 3. Ability to walk up to 3 miles during the course of an 8-hour workday.
