Sales Engineer

Are you a pre-sales solution engineer with the agility and creativity to lead a comprehensive technical solution sales strategy, while addressing technology issues, assessing customer IT infrastructure and determining the technology needed to ensure customer adoption of the proposed solution?
We are seeking an experienced Pre-Sales Solution Engineer to support our growing Mid-Market segment, by assisting Account Executives in managing the technical aspects of their territory and providing technical leadership throughout the sales process. The Sales Engineer will assist with developing opportunities, design customer solution maps, establish executive level relationships with customer technical leadership, and work closely with the customer-facing teams to increase market share, grow revenue, and increase customer satisfaction.
If you have both technical and business / sales acumen, proven experience in pre-sales / customer facing / technical roles with 3+ years of retail industry knowledge, and exceptional customer focus and bias for action, we want to talk with you.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Jointly create, manage, and execute account plans side by side with assigned Account Executives, taking lead on key technical initiatives and developing relationships with technical stakeholdersDevelop solution plans according to account and company initiatives and objectives.Maintain and develop existing and new offerings through appropriate and relevant internal liaison, optimizing business growth and customer satisfaction.Plan and prioritize opportunities with Account Executives to ensure efficiency and productivity.Participate in pricing conversations and assist in validating the software, hardware, services pricing based on the solution design.Engage Professional Services once a complete solution plan is identified and documented.Monitor and report on market and competitor activities as they become available.Communicate and report internally on opportu8nity status and plan using appropriate methods to facilitate the development of profitable business and sustainable relationship.Influence buyers on product by offering new / improved products / innovation within the industry.Focus on upselling while acting as a technical advisor to customers.Follow and comply with all relevant policies, administration processes, and expectations for quality work.Work with and drive other teams to ensure the right resources are aligned for product demos and presales discussions.Influence changes through close internal dialogue and ensure customer’s expectations and service agreements are met.Influence product development and enhance internal practice to achieve sales development through intelligence gathered from the market and conversations with customers.Stay up to date on industry changes and the ways in which technology is being developed and deployed to solve new problems.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, or Engineering preferred5+ years of experience in pre-sales/customer-facing/technical roles selling software, hardware, and services.3+ years of Retail Industry experienceExperience working with small to medium sized retailers either as a consultant, service provider, software provider, or from an end user perspective.Excellent English, including both oral and written communication, with high-level presentation skills and an attention to detailWillingness to travel up to 40% for client meetings and demonstrations as necessary.Ability to lift 25+ pounds.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
