Opportunity Overview
We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Sales Engineer to lead development and integration efforts to achieve customer success in accounts in the Southeast and MidAtlantic. The sales engineer will be required to use their extensive knowledge of a technical product’s features and operations to sell these products to our customers. They will assess a customer’s technical needs, explain details about AIT’s products, write quotes and proposals, attend sales events and trade shows, collaborate with sales and engineering teams, and assist in the development of new products. The sales territory will cover the MidAtlantic and Southeast states, including:Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, and Washington DC. The position will include travel around the USA, mainly in the states referenced above.
The sales engineer will be responsible for managing AIT’s existing customer base in the specified territory as well as penetrating existing and new accounts to grow AIT’s sales in the region. This person will interface daily with customers as well as manage and work with AIT’s manufacturing representatives in the different states.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Possess interpersonal skills that enable development of customer relationships at all levels of the account.
+ Ability to find, prioritize, develop and close business opportunities.
+ Actively participate in customer engagements, sales events, and trade shows
+ Collaborate with sales and engineering teams and assist in the development of new products
+ Ensure seamless communication and alignment between engineering, field support, and product development teams to deliver cohesive solutions.
+ Assess a customer’s technical needs and identify the AIT products to meet those needs.
+ Perform onsite and offsite demonstrations of products.
+ Write quotes and proposals.
+ Travel around the USA, mainly in Southeast and MidAtlantic US States.
+ Provide forecasts of potential opportunities on a quarterly and annual basis.

+ Overall 5 or more years of experience.
+ Proven ability to work directly with customers and internal stakeholders to drive solution adoption.
+ Experience in identifying and bridging gaps in existing software products to meet evolving customer demands.
+ Strong leadership and communication skills.
+ Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment with a focus on delivering high-value, customized solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience selling technical solutions to military and commercial aerospace markets.
