Sales Director, Database Platform, Healthcare, UK

About the Role

Oracle is building a dedicated team to drive the growth of our Healthcare Database Platform business across EMEA, with a specific focus on the NHS in the UK. As a Healthcare Sales Director – Database Platform, you will focus on identifying transformational opportunities centred on Oracle’s database platform, Cloud capabilities and associated services.
You’ll lead a team of Sales Representatives and work in close partnership with Solutions Engineers and Oracle Health, helping NHS organisations adopt Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) to tackle some of their most complex challenges.
This role demands a unique blend of strategic leadership, health-tech expertise, sales execution, and deep understanding of the healthcare sector to drive Oracle’s growth and impact within the NHS.

 

What You’ll Do

Lead the identification and shaping of large-scale, strategic database transformation opportunities across NHS organisations.Develop and execute go-to-market strategies, working with other lines of business and Oracle Health to maximise OCI and DBP adoption in NHS accounts.Leverage your trusted network of NHS stakeholders to understand priorities, develop targeted propositions, and shape multi-year transformation programmes.Translate NHS business, clinical and administrative needs into Oracle database solutions.Drive demand generation and opportunity qualification across the territory, ensuring a well-developed and accurately forecasted pipeline.Track sales performance, contribute to territory planning, and ensure consistent pipeline progression against targets.Work closely with Oracle Health to align GTM activities and bring together Oracle’s wider healthcare value proposition.Engage and orchestrate Oracle’s partner ecosystem to support opportunity development and delivery.Support field sales teams to close priority deals, bringing healthcare credibility and insight to the engagement.

 

What You’ll Bring
Healthcare Sector / Domain Expertise

Proven experience in navigating the NHS’s complex structure — including trusts, ICSs, national bodies, and procurement frameworks.A strong, current network within the NHS and wider UK healthcare ecosystem — particularly among healthcare partners and senior decision-makers.In-depth understanding of DHSC and NHS funding structures, including commissioning, budget cycles, and investment flows.Strong grasp of the NHS’s strategic and operational challenges, enabling you to position Oracle Cloud solutions credibly and persuasively.Awareness of the NHS’s Electronic Patient Record (EPR) landscape, its major players, implementation constraints, and the role cloud platforms play in enabling migration and interoperability.Ability to foster collaborative initiatives between OCI, DBP, and Oracle Health teams to accelerate joint NHS penetration and value delivery.

 

Software & Cloud Sales Acumen

Proven experience in software or cloud sales, ideally within the public or healthcare sector.Expertise in pipeline management, forecasting, demand generation, and account planning.Demonstrable success in converting demand into large-scale cloud transformation wins.Commercial fluency in cloud consumption models, contracts, and licensing strategies.

 

Technology Acumen

Strong knowledge of Oracle’s database platform portfolio and its relevance in healthcare settings (e.g., data consolidation, analytics, interoperability, secure hosting).Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and emerging technologies relevant to NHS priorities, including population health, research, and AI.

 

Leadership
