Sales Development Manager – Role Summary
The Digital Sales Development team drives high-quality customer engagement in the early stages of digital transformation, focusing on SAP’s Business Technology Platform (BTP) and Business Data Cloud (BDC). The team builds and nurtures pipeline within SAP’s install base, turning prospects into qualified opportunities and accelerating revenue growth in alignment with Sales and Marketing.
As a Sales Development Manager, you will lead a team of Sales Development Executives (SDEs) to generate pipeline and create demand for SAP’s BTP/BDC solutions across industries. You’ll manage team performance, develop talent, and ensure operational excellence through data-driven decisions and best-in-class execution.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Execution
Align team with SAP’s go-to-market strategy and ensure execution across territory, segment, and solution areas. Prioritize market opportunities, plan implementation, and adjust based on competitive dynamics. Oversee demand generation, lead management, and deal execution in partnership with Field Sales, Marketing, and other stakeholders. Drive sales coverage, forecast accuracy, and performance across KPIs (quota, net new names, territory/account mix).Pipeline & Territory Management
Ensure healthy pipeline progression by planning and executing demand generation strategies with internal and partner resources. Lead regular pipeline reviews, manage territory assignments, and optimize resource allocation.Campaign Execution & Lead Management
Coordinate integrated sales campaigns and ensure lead conversion through targeted execution and follow-up.Customer & Partner Engagement
Build strong relationships with strategic customers and partners to support business growth. Support rollout of key programs and provide senior-level deal support as needed.Leadership & People Development
Recruit, develop, and coach SDEs to grow into future Account Executives. Foster a high-performance, collaborative team environment that promotes innovation and continuous improvement. Provide real-time coaching and feedback to drive individual and team success. Manage underperformance through structured support and clear KPI accountability. Lead talent development initiatives and promote career progression beyond current roles.Operational Excellence
Implement and refine business processes to drive efficiency and predictability. Use performance data to inform decisions, identify trends, and improve strategies. Conduct business reviews and present data-driven insights to internal stakeholders.Experience & Qualifications
7+ years in Demand Generation or Inside Sales leadership roles, preferably managing early talent. Proven track record of pipeline generation, progression, and conversion to bookings. Experience in global, cross-functional team management. Demonstrated ability to align strategy with execution across distributed teams. Strong coaching and mentoring background with a focus on talent development. Data-driven mindset with strong analytical and forecasting skills. Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills. History of long, successful tenures and overachievement in high-growth environments. Master’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Location - Alpharetta required Office requirement - Candidate(s) will be required to work 3 days a week in an SAP office/client site as per our Pledge to Flex return to office policy SAP is not offering relocation benefits for this role at this time. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 172900 - 368700(USD) USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
